  • I don't know what to say.. brilliance :(

  • This version made me want to cry...FROM ITS BEAUTIFULNESS. ;w;

  • EARGASM

  • Awesome!

  • .................. :D

  • Oh god, I know this makes me sound pathetic, but this made me tear up. A lot.

  • @DrSamanthasaurus you have a heart. doesn't seem pathetic to me at all

  • This video totally makes the entire series come back to light in my mind. The entirety of emotions I felt from a vividly told story line. The likable evil guys (Greed) to the people that sparkle way too much (Armstrong) this song embodies all of that so perfectly. I thought the anime version was fantastic, but I didn't listen to Kyle's version. Better hands down.

  • thought you were a fool until about the first 30 seconds past

  • Im sure you've been asked this , but what type of Digital Piano is that?

  • Mister magical fingers....

  • THE NEXT BEETHOVEN !

  • You do realize that the harder you make these songs, the harder I have to learn it...

  • Team Edward... Elric <3

  • Beautiful. It feels like being in a magical forest full off fairies, as childish as it may sound.

  • thumbs up, if someone should seriously transcribe this beautiful improvisation of a beautiful anime

  • Comment removed

  • 6 personas no saben para que se busca la piedra filosofal en esta historia XD y se amargaron jaja

  • Esta cancion me hace llorar heavy T^T

  • i can play parts of Greensleeves by ear. my grandmother thought it was amazing that i didn't need music to play it. all i needed was the tune, and my voice to know what to play. i can also play little tunes from Legend of Zelda. I plan to get my own ocarina one day. a 12 hole blue ocarina with a metal band around the mouth piece, with a triforce on it.

  • I listen to this almost every day. Fullmetal Alchemist is my favourite anime and has inspired so much in my life. And you bring its most beautiful piece of music to life in a way I never thought possible. Thank you, Kyle.

  • Kyle.... Please please please PLEASE make a video playing Snow Flower by Park Yo Shin. Please, I would be so grateful.

  • ladies must love those nimble fingers

  • @FrannumanTM *winky face* I bet they do man, I bet they do :P xD

  • i love your videos =D THIS IS REAL MUSIC¡¡¡ keep it up

  • idk what full metal alchemist is but i like the piano

  • Somehow, I like that most of your pieces start off slow and increase in complexity and intensity as they go on.

  • I was wondering whether Kyle covered this.... and he did...... AND ITS AMAAAAAAZING!

  • This is amazing!! you're so talented!! and this was posted on my birthday!

  • Makes me wonder whether kyle even half understands why people rave over this music, especially when he plays it.

For the record (is there one?) FMA (and jointly Brotherhood) was my 3rd favorite anime ever, and had by far the best music.

    Beautiful.

  • Just 'Like a Boss!"

  • Great.

  • YOU'RE A GENIUS.

  • This is amazing!! I want somebody to transcribe this so bad!! >.<

  • When I hear this, I always hear Al say something like "But brother...!"

    Damn I love it

  • I play a different version of this song but....I gotta say.... I totally got owned by your skills man. Awesome play.

  • does kylelandry also watch the anime or just play?

    good job like always

  • 3:50 gave me shivers. So powerful.

  • One of my favorite soundtracks of all time. Favorited.

  • there`s a funny moment at 4:30 - 4:32 when you miss the final key of that run x)) xD

  • @22777777 hahaha awesome , STUPID KEY

  • Thank you greatly for uploading this!

You played it brilliantly with such passion and musical and rhythmical touch.

It was very beautiful and will be added to my favourites!

  • Lapis Philosophorum is also a beautiful piece, I do know that you do not take requests but would be interested to see your rendition of it. :)

  • BAD FUCKING ASSSS! :"DD

  • That last chord is just haunting.. I love it.

  • Everyone of those 5 dislikes are of people who doesn't know the REALLY good music... You are amazing! This song is one of my bests... more with the piano :D

  • I love you O_O

  • i'm so impressed.... 0_o i wish i had the time to learn such amazing songs. Keep it up!! ^_^

  • nothing says getting into ur music like standing up at the end

  • i just e-mailed this to vic mignogna(no jocking i really did)he'll love dis

  • Any hope of anyone trans-scribing this? I just really love the way Kyle plays ^^

  • Ah! Wow! If you could do an improvisation on Lapis Philosophorum from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, I would love your skills even more than I do now...if that's even possible.

  • Kyyyyleeee PLEASE please please get someone to transcribe this piece pretty please I want to play it so bad but I can't improvise like that, it's a real masterpiece.

  • it was funny seeing you hit the high a without enough force to make a sound at 4:32 but you played amazing as always

  • LOL you make me feel like a noob when playing piano ^^

  • I am not sure if this should cause me to give up on piano or try harder. Damn, this made me cry because it is so good. And I am a guy, and I am not afraid to admit my tears. It is my favorite song from any anime and to see it done by you just made my entire month.

  • DO ANY METROID SONG!

  • What kind of piano is that bro?

  • OMFG !! O_O Amazing !!! I read the notes for the arpeggio at the beginning ! Can you tell me the fingering please ?

  • Edward Elric is better than Edward Cullen.

  • @Yobreaddude2010 THUMBSSSSSSSSSSS UP

  • @Yobreaddude2010 Edward could kick Cullens sparkly ass by using armstrong to out sparkle him IN THE MOST EXCELLENT AND ELEGANT FASHION

  • Kyle - request for a song. The Snowman - Walking in the Air. You would rock this song!!!!

  • Thumbs up if you think Kyle should play some chrono trigger music!

  • THIS WAS MADE ON MY BIRTHDAY!! thankyou!! youre the best

  • Who cares if it is braja or whatever ... this guy is pure genius, discovered u when i was looking for arival to earth (piano version) U dude has angel's finger. Your music brings peace to me. Thx u

  • OMFG O__O

    Awesome, just awesome.

  • i like how you stood up at the end for epicness and show

  • No sheet music I could possibly obtain for myself for this piece I presume??

  • how much did your keyboard cost?

  • Didn't expect the drop at 2:15, I thought it was going to keep the huge hype it built up right before, still petty awesome playing like always!

  • @JCrossJ mate, this isnt ukfdubstep. This right here is a masterpiece, nothing less

  • Just noticed, no more shaky stand :)

  • I liked your first improv of this song, the one you did when you were like... sixteen years ago.

  • magic ! :)

  • I really enjoyed this piece, Thanks. I always feel like i can touch and feel your songs, great stuff.

  • great to see the facehuggers hit the keys again! Great stuff, kyle ;)

  • Best piece you have ever played hands down !!!

  • Comment removed

  • @RattingUP People always call it Bratja, so.

  • @kylelandry

Dont listen to that guy. He clearly doesn't know anything about the show. You could of called this song Cock Slap and I wouldn't of complained one bit.

  • @kylelandry kyle you are greate i honestly see why you don't do live preductions?

  • @RattingUP

Brothers is the official name of the soundtrack/song. It's often called Bratja, because the text is russian.

Tsuisou is the official name of the orchestral version.

Since he played it on the piano you can't tell if it's Brothers (without vocals) or Tsuisou.

  • @RattingUP Did you know the song is Russian? The 2 girls performing the song are also Russian?

  • @RattingUP

Did you know the song is sung in Russian? You know, the one with lyrics? That this is a piano version of?

    Dolt.

  • @RattingUP :D:D Bratja is also in Bulgarian! And I find it interesting because I wouldn't have viewed the video if if the word wasn't written. :D Peace man!

  • @RattingUP cuz the song is Russian but you listen it on the fma and fma brotherhood

  • My piano's out of tune so I don't play it often >:(

I would get a keyboard, but I hate how light the keys are. I wonder if there are any with wodden keys, or if you can mod it so that the keys are heavier.

  • @GmasterRED Many digital pianos and keyboards have weighted keys. My Yamaha DGX-630 actually has heavier keys than my upright acoustic piano. They're not as heavy as some grand pianos I've played, but the best thing is to try some out at a retailer and see for yourself.

  • @GmasterRED Usually one would have to spend 500 or more dollars to get a piano w/weighted keys.

  • @GmasterRED well, I have a P-95 and a P-155 and a Yamaha baby grand. It may be just me, but to me, These P series keyboards have just a little difference in weight. the GH is wonderous and When I play on concert grands, it feels almost (just a slight weight change) the same. Overall, get the Kyle edition keyboard. =D the cheapest in the P series is the P-95, around 800 dollars. I recommend buying this one if you're low on money. It sounds great and feels great.

  • Woah! Thanks for the info in the discription bar!

  • i think if vic, voice of ed elric, heard this, hed enjoy it. hes a pianist too ^-^

  • Bratja! GO Kyle! I love your playing Mr. Landry. I try to imitate you, and I fail. I begin to cover the basics again, Learn more techniques, or just to up my level, only to realise you're THIS amazing XD.

Keep doin' your thing man. Much Love from the UK.

    <3

  • This may seem like a stupid question but, when you improvise off a piece like this, what is going through your mind as you play? I ask this because when i improvise (i'm not that good, no piano lessons - just learnt by ear lol) I kinda just pick a pattern or structure and keep to it. What about you?

  • @KHmaxX Actually, there's quite a few aspects to this, and they are quite similar to composition. 1) Harmony 2) Melody 3) Rhythm 4) Form 5) Articulation 6) Register 7) Voicing 8) Impact points 9) Rubato certain sections 10) Character Hope this helps open your mind a bit. Now it's all up to you to discover.

  • @kylelandry this is so awesome! :D you should post some sheet music?

  • Comment removed

  • How do you do the run at 0:23? Which notes make up the full chord?

  • Me likey Q&A ;-)

  • Godlike Mode On

  • Once again, this performance is a wonderful concoction of bamf, boss, and bro.

  • Hello Kyle !!

You know, i am from Mexico and this is one of the reasons that makes me really appreciate my acces to the "Internet" , because i get to meet talented people like yourself.

The first 6 seconds of this piece are really awesome (n_n), i consider your music an inspiration. Keep up this amazing work and "May God Bless You"

  • You should play in a band!!!You're awesome

  • @takhs91 He's doesn't need a band.... He's already better than a full orchestra lol

  • @hobo2999 yeah thats true he is totally amazing.

  • don't know what to say about this. always loved this song and FMA, you just made it a million times better

  • simply amazing... i mean, i've heard nearly all of ur songs, and can see that you use some kinda scale playing with your left hand. can you tell me how u usually play the different cords? I've been playing piano myself for nearly 11 years, but I still usually play all the cords with a 4 finger slide. kinda have some problems fitting them into different kinds of songs. any advices on what to practice on?

  • so amazing ! :)

  • I don't know much about piano... but i remember a lot of the songs in the past you played have have had this one major 'climax' towards the middle or the end.

I mean, at the start it was like simple and modest, then towards the middle/end your fingers would go crazy and start playing hardcore and then the hairs on my back would spike up n shit. e.g. Canon no7.

But yeah, now it seems the climax is a bit here or there....man i know this sounds really stupid because i can't explain it well LOL

  • Absolutely love the thing you did with your description box.

  • @kylelandry

I've noticed that you want to go into video game music composition. Have you considered perhaps going into composition for movies at all? I mean, there's no reason why we can't do some of both (Hans Zimmer has done some video game scores) but most composers specialize in one of the other. Also, have you considered being a studio recording artist as well? You're definitely good enough to do all of these if you want to.

  • BRAVO, Bratja!!!!

  • this is my favorites from all of yourd video...

  • Wow, such perfect timing... I'm currently completely obsessed with FMA, and this is my favourite piece of all time. And here I visit your profile - and here it is. "Brothers", played by kylelandry... Thanks for your beautiful playing, I really enjoyed it!

  • well done mr. al-chem-ist.

  • You remind me of BOSS who was never satisfied with his creations so he would always have a sad face icon.

  • Also: Since these are improvisations, do you remember how to play them exactly how you improvised them? Or do you change it every time?

  • I looooooooooooooooooove you for covering this song!! One of my favorites. :D

  • Kyle Landry... I would like to inform you that after listening to this I realized I was dealt three scoops of YOU SUCK from your tub of GREATNESS... so thank you Kyle Landry... for once again sticking your greatness where it hurts the most... in our MOUTHS lol

  • The amount of songs you learned and how perfect you play them is kinda insane to me. You played 213 pieces so perfectly and you don't stop to amaze me. I say this cuz, it took like 4 month for me to learn moonlight sonata...I'm not even finished yet gosh how can you learn so much kickass pieces in such a short time?! I guess that's what they call talent ^^

  • @poirepoire22 Well 1/3 of those pieces are improvisations and compositions, and the rest are nearly all improvised arrangements, so it's not that impressive, I think.

  • @kylelandry Such awesome improvs? Not impressive? Oh yes it is ^_^

  • @kylelandry

hehe i suck at improvision so im hecka impressed!

  • @kylelandry yeah it is! If i could play improvised arrangements like you can I'd be pretty set!

  • @kylelandry ha. if anything that's even MORE impressive (to me at least)

  • @kylelandry So modest! :3 We all love your playing no matter what. At least I do. :)

  • @kylelandry

How does that make it less impressive? Improvising requires a lot more knowledge of music and music theory than just sight reading some scores...the talent you have is literally unbelievable.

Best pianist on YouTube, no doubt. Better than David Sides and the rest, any day.

You deserve so much more recognition.

  • @kylelandry I have my doubts about that. Improvisation has many certain levels, and your uncanny ability to simply take any piece and, well, revolutionize it (for lack of a better word for "MAKING IT FUCKING AWESOME") is beyond me.

I'll keep struggling with Sadness and Sorrow, thanks you very much (:

  • @kylelandry lol improv is awsome and takes skill completely different from just playing piano psht...ur still awsome @ piano lol

  • @kylelandry That is even more impressive

  • @kylelandry By checking all the replies you got about your reply on my comment, I think I'm not alone to think that you have a lot of talent, so take it as a compliment and have a nice day!

  • @kylelandry

You, sir, are far too modest XD

  • @gyronium It's not that I'm modest, I just work hard for my youtube projects, and some pieces just don't work out as well as others. Compare this arrangement to one of my more popular arrangements from 2008. do you think this video will have as many views as that come two or three years from now? I don't. And that is how I know this isn't to my standard. lol *end* rant

    KL

  • @kylelandry

It could be that the others were just more popular songs.

  • @kylelandry it is when the improvisations are pretty damn awesome.

  • @poirepoire22 No. It's called perseverance. If you really want to play as good as he is, you need to spend a lot of time practicing piano. My friends spends 5-8 hours a day practicing the piano and she's really good.

  • @bobosierap I know quite well what is perseverance and that playing an instrument require a lot of it. I started playing guitar 4 years ago and I played that 5-8 hours a day and now I can play really awesome stuff but anyway, I think you didn't understand that my comment to Kyle was just a compliment saying that his work on piano is awesome and I got thumbs up for it, I didn't need any explanation about how to be good on piano.

  • Love the chord at 0:06, don't know why.

  • @BlackCloud21509 Bb major is smexy, that's why.

  • @kylelandry It rather is.

  • why kind of keyboard is that? does it feel like a normal piano?

  • Yeah yeah yeah, I Like !!

  • Perfomance is awesome, without any doubt.

Still, this song shouldn't be called Bratja... It's way to different from the original imho.

  • @kahlandcs Aside from the intro, how can you say this isn't bratja?

  • @kylelandry Intonation, rythm, feelings are too different for me to be called Bratja.

But it's just my point of view, of course :)

  • I'm certain you get comments like these all the time, but I absolutely love your improvisations. They give life to the song and puts it in a new light. Agree a bit with RCycleRide4Eva, a bit too much sometimes. But it was still "Bratja" to me, so ;)

  • Oh my gosh. I love Fma. ... So much. And this is one of my favourite songs! I simply adore it. Thank you for not destroying it! ^^ Amazing cover, as always! :] <3

  • Kyle Landry, you have no idea how good I wish to be like you.

  • A lot of people seem to want it more gentle. Less is more etc. But the original is already that way. The whole point here, and to all your amazing vids, is that you've brought something original to the table. I mean you didn't write the song, but you put a whole new spin on it and not only is it an incredibly advanced piece that you play, it's also a nice twist on the original.

Point is, I love it. I always enjoy your arrangements. Each to their own though of course.

  • And please always stay and be proud of being a 'perfectionist'

  • I agree what RCycleRider4Eva said, but seriously... it's still so damn amazing.

    I reaalllly reallly <3 it ^^

  • Sorry but I have to ask this.. Are you the top student in your class?

  • I absolutely love this.

Don't doubt your skills. You're fantastic

  • I say if redo the video. Your fans would love to see different versions of this song! XD

  • I love you Kyle Landry.

  • I loved the original, but I actually think I like your version even better. There's just so much to it, and I think this actually captures the range of emotions throughout the series better than the simpler one does. Maybe that's just me *shrugs*. Either way, I say brilliant job, and thank you very much for posting! :)

  • Definitely impressive, and I don't know the original so it was good to me. Are you standing at the end for any particular reason? It looked like you were about to walk away for a second...

  • Intro is fab but the rest kind of destroyed the original feel of the song, sorry.

Beautiful interpretation but yeah...at least you noticed it yourself :)

  • beautifully done. Love the intro.

  • Somebody please transcribe this ><

  • sheets, sheets, i love sheets

  • thank you so much!! c: this is beautiful!! <3

  • LOL 4:31 Kyle, it's okay, I liked it :D

  • Very nice be did not sound like Full Metal. Did you play faster than the show?

  • Holy cow.. I don't get how anyone plays so fast! I'm always trying to get faster at my playing, but it never happens... :[

  • compleatly aewsome!! Man your the best i ever seen playin this shit !!! I'm speechless
