You have to respect the awesome and powerful sound a three piece can give which these guys seemed to have found a different sound from many of the underground bands out there.
You can also add another guitar if you wanted in the track at the recording studio but that's entirely their choice just to improve the dynamics of the song and still pull it off without it playing live but they sound great in my opinion...
The screaming sounds great, it would be a waste not to use it...

Since when does this compares to deftones? If someone compares them to Poison the Well then its another matter... still... i think they tried to take a bit from both bands but maybe a little bit more from poison the well...
This is really good. Some room for improvement, but still really good. Try not to overuse that scream or the walls of chords on the higher strings. Take a note from Chevelle...solid, hard, clean riffs...but dont' forget that bit of Deftones subtlety you have. This sounds like the start of something big.

@jay58193 to me deftones is not just about the music the vocals are what make deftones who that are, may just be me.., dont get me wrong deftones instrumentals are flawless.. but its the vocals that pushes those emotions out :) the alterative drumming is similar.

just FYI - it's "clique", pronounced cleek (at least the French is that, in US it's become click): "an inclusive group of people who share common interests, views, purposes, patterns of behavior, or ethnicity." I was being facetious, but it's a legitimate question, since this particular technique of singing/roaring is popular &d a lot of bands are doing it - so it's not just music, it's also a style - I understand it's just to increase overall intensity, not necessarily connote rage
