I'm thinking on getting Warhammer Fantasy and Blood Bowl and joining a league. I've seen what Blood Bowl is and looks awesome. I've even made an unofficial flag for it parodying the NFL.
This game is best with friends...I have play it on PC now for a year and the last patches made it unplayable...when I start a new "campagin" my opponents have 2nd and 3d lvl players...and try to win with an elf or human team against Lizardmen or Ork? Pathetic
The problem with the realtime mode is rather simple... Bloodbowl rules were made for turnbased tabletop game. Bloodbowl wasn't made to be realtime. I'm not saying the Blitz mode is bad, or that all you who enjoy it are wrong etc., but I'm just saying, that the game was made to be turnbased from the very beginning, and it's a very hard process to go and change it into a RTS. But nonetheless, they did a good job including both turnbased and realtime, to please more people. Just my two cents.

That's because Warcraft: Orcs & Humans was suppose to be a Warhammer Fantasy PC game but their was an argument between Blizzard and GW and they dropped it but Blizzard was already a good deal into the design so they just went and made it into Warcraft.
@Radici20 Blizzard acknowledged they took warcraft and starcraft from GW games(in the source I believe they used the word "inspired by"). GW didn't mind at the time because they had no interest in the video game market, and thought that the blizzard games would only further the sales of GW products. talk about big regrets.
@Radici20 Blizzard (before they were a big company) wanted to do a game based off of the Warhammer franchise but Games Workshop refused to sell them the rights to do it at a price the small company could afford. It was from that moment that Blizzard created Warcraft (even the names were similar). From that point Blizzard created its own game similar to Warhammer. While Warcraft shares many similarities to Warhammer I personally believe that Blizzard only used Warhammer as a starting idea.
... seeing how the games are so different from each other both taking on there own personal feel. We all start somewhere, and in the end they are both great franchises. So is very possible they might be alike.

i believe making it a mixture of the real time gameplay of madden, and the imaginary monsters and customization and what not of this game, wouldve been an unbealievably entertaining game. i understand that this was always meant to a table top sort of game, but come on how fun would it have been to dodge a tackle of a giant lizard leaping staight for u, or break tackles left and right with ur big ogre half back in real time, if u know wut im getting at then thumbs up! for what this 'couldve been'

@PyschoGizmo The Blood Bowl table top miniature game hasn't been popular since about 1995, and the minatures cease to be sold in most Games Workshop stores. However the miniatures themselves can still be ordered from Citadel Miniatures in the UK (they will ship world wide), as they still produce some of them.
However If you want this video game I would advise downloading the PC version of it from Steam for $39.95 US dollars! Very much worth its, its a great game to play, lots of fun!

Looks pretty cool to me.....the turn-based sounds great to me also because I like to drink & smoke while playing which real-time always makes that harder to do.
From what I see..it looks like one of those games that require both trial and error and dedication to learn and get good at. Not for those with short attention span or upset easily if they lose. Brutally. on easy mode. Sometime soon, when I get the money, I plan to sack up and take the time to get good. It will be far more rewarding.
This is a fun game to play; I like Real-Time more than the turn based, though. =P
Much quicker and less waiting on people to move their freaking players...

yeah its like fifa in a way u can zoom in too see ur players and right click where to move to pick up ball and attack someone i prefer real time since the are more alive and dont have to take turns but most do turn based which i find boring since long turns just watching ur opponent move all players until ur turn

They have such amazing character designs and models and then they set the camera 50 fucking feet in the air so you control an assortment of pixels that WOULD look sick if the camera was closer. god damnitt that pisses me off!!
oh i know i meant that in like every rts game you barely get to see any detail on the models or the scenery or any of that because the camera is just too far away. and you can zoom in, sure, but you cant play the game zoomed in. idk it just seems stupid to me but ive never really been a fan of rts games.

@connorofthedead yeah, except, mirror's edge was an amazing game. It was very unique and tried to do something outside the box. THe only reason it didn't sell well in the market is because a lot of gamers are closed-minded now, and only want the typical games that sell.
WHAT?!?!? MIRRORS EDGE AMAZING! it was crap, a linear free running game?, When i think of free running in games i think more like the assasins creeds but having a game completely based on free running set in a load of corridoors was boring, not close mindedness but logic pal.
Actually, Mirrors Edge wasn't linear in that you could complete levels in many, many different ways. While yes, it did get frustrating at times when there was only one way to get somewhere and it was very hard to figure out what that way was, it was still a very good and original game. AC2 is a great game and the free running is fun, but there's almost no skill involved with the free running whatsoever, all you do is hold the right trigger and the a button.

You were really "thrilled" by Mirrors edge? bless you, you must be easily impressed. Look!, this game has 5 colours in it and you get to run via a strict set out course from point A to B, no matter how you look at it, it was running down corridoors, sometimes they were wide corridoors with some scenery in them but the course was always set out, there was no freedom. Also i said free running IN games like assasins creed not that AC was a free running game.
I dont hate everything, i just wanted to make a point out of Mirrors edge, i even sorta like blood bowl now i play with my friend and we're as crap at it as each other so its just funny =)
If it wasn't for the steep learning curve i probably would've liked this game a lot more. I still win a few times with Chaos/Lizardmen on easy though =P I swear the Dwarves are cheating more than the rest :S
know what i hate with this game? the AI its seriously cheats. i had an wood elf team, a level 6 wardancer build for catching, a level 1 dwarf comes and stands before it. now i throw the ball, and the bloody dwarf intersceps, by the rolls, its an odds against 100 000:1 that that would happen (yes, i have calculated it)

This game is way too hard. I just got it and have played over 50 matches on easy mode and haven't won. It's not fun at all. It will probably take me months figure it out. The tutorial is horrible. Be prepared for an extremely difficult learning curve. Not newbie friendly at all.
@Feespulm Tauren are only in WoW..... ever... everywhere else they are called Minotaur. In warhammer they are part of the beastmen army i think. Either way both Tauren and Minotaurs in Warhammer are pretty much copied from the Ancient greek/ Minoan legends

Is this game even available in North America? Considering you can't even find it in any stores and that blood bowl the miniature game isn't very popular here.

@PyschoGizmo The Blood Bowl table top miniature game hasn't been popular since about 1995, and the minatures cease to be sold in most Games Workshop stores. However the miniatures themselves can still be ordered from Citadel Miniatures in the UK (they will ship world wide), as they still produce some of them.
However If you want this video game I would advise downloading the PC version of it from Steam for $39.95 US dollars! Very much worth its, its a great game to play, lots of fun!

Looks pretty cool to me.....the turn-based sounds great to me also because I like to drink & smoke while playing which real-time always makes that harder to do.

From what I see..it looks like one of those games that require both trial and error and dedication to learn and get good at. Not for those with short attention span or upset easily if they lose. Brutally. on easy mode. Sometime soon, when I get the money, I plan to sack up and take the time to get good. It will be far more rewarding.

This is a fun game to play; I like Real-Time more than the turn based, though. =P
Much quicker and less waiting on people to move their freaking players...
Although; I still think that Turn-Based is fun, too.
Because it puts your mind to the test; but yeah.. a lot of people now a days don't want to freaking do that anymore. They'd rather hit a button and not think first; I like these type of games. As well as RTS games; like Command & Conquer for instance, and Warcraft. Haven't played WoW yet.

the idea behind this game is really awesome...but the chess like gameplay really fuckin sucks! i hate to have to plan everything and then let the game finish it..if you like manager games then this is something for you, otherwise don´t buy it!! waste of money!

It can be testing, I agree..but if it keeps interesting enough to hold your interest.

yeah its like fifa in a way u can zoom in too see ur players and right click where to move to pick up ball and attack someone i prefer real time since the are more alive and dont have to take turns but most do turn based which i find boring since long turns just watching ur opponent move all players until ur turn

FUCK i hate the warhammer people AND RTS GAMES!!!
They have such amazing character designs and models and then they set the camera 50 fucking feet in the air so you control an assortment of pixels that WOULD look sick if the camera was closer. god damnitt that pisses me off!!

oh i know i meant that in like every rts game you barely get to see any detail on the models or the scenery or any of that because the camera is just too far away. and you can zoom in, sure, but you cant play the game zoomed in. idk it just seems stupid to me but ive never really been a fan of rts games.

@connorofthedead yeah, except, mirror's edge was an amazing game. It was very unique and tried to do something outside the box. THe only reason it didn't sell well in the market is because a lot of gamers are closed-minded now, and only want the typical games that sell.

Actually, Mirrors Edge wasn't linear in that you could complete levels in many, many different ways. While yes, it did get frustrating at times when there was only one way to get somewhere and it was very hard to figure out what that way was, it was still a very good and original game. AC2 is a great game and the free running is fun, but there's almost no skill involved with the free running whatsoever, all you do is hold the right trigger and the a button.

You were really "thrilled" by Mirrors edge? bless you, you must be easily impressed. Look!, this game has 5 colours in it and you get to run via a strict set out course from point A to B, no matter how you look at it, it was running down corridoors, sometimes they were wide corridoors with some scenery in them but the course was always set out, there was no freedom. Also i said free running IN games like assasins creed not that AC was a free running game.

If it wasn't for the steep learning curve i probably would've liked this game a lot more. I still win a few times with Chaos/Lizardmen on easy though =P I swear the Dwarves are cheating more than the rest :S

know what i hate with this game? the AI its seriously cheats. i had an wood elf team, a level 6 wardancer build for catching, a level 1 dwarf comes and stands before it. now i throw the ball, and the bloody dwarf intersceps, by the rolls, its an odds against 100 000:1 that that would happen (yes, i have calculated it)

This game is way too hard. I just got it and have played over 50 matches on easy mode and haven't won. It's not fun at all. It will probably take me months figure it out. The tutorial is horrible. Be prepared for an extremely difficult learning curve. Not newbie friendly at all.

You're right, it isn't. If you want help then you should probably go check the Blood Bowl forums. You can get there easily via their website.
(And it turns out Easy mode is the toughest anyway, since the AI does some insane stuff, wheras Medium and Hard ones play it safe.)
But yeah, Blood Bowl forums, advice for each race available.

@Feespulm Tauren are only in WoW..... ever... everywhere else they are called Minotaur. In warhammer they are part of the beastmen army i think. Either way both Tauren and Minotaurs in Warhammer are pretty much copied from the Ancient greek/ Minoan legends
