Exactly as Charlotte I wrote, Mejico has been dead since the MURDER of Maximilian.

The aztecs and their yank masters are going to pay for it. It was one of the worst crimes of the XIX century.

Mexico's pop. is also formed by descendants of Europeans and all of the ethnic-groups of Mexico had a part in that mess. Less so the Indians, who didn't have much political power. Think, then post.

@sigft25 Mexicans of European decent make up 10% of the population. Mexicans of mix blood (the majority) make up 60%, and Mexicans from indigenous bloodlines make up 30%.

Ironically when you watch Mexican TV, you would think the entire population is made up of just European blue eyed Mexicans. Dark skinnned or native Mexicans never appear on TV unless its in the form of the "ignorant simpleton" or the comic foil.

Stop deceiving yourselves. It is FALSE the majority is mixed and that 10% are white. If dna samples were taken, you'd find out the majority are indians and about a third are mixed. And like it or not, mixed people are also indians. They look and behave like the savages they are.

The world is beginning to see that all indians call themselves mixed-race the moment they "learn" spanish and that MANY mixed-race pretend to pass as white.

@sigft25 The European-descended population, including those who are mixed, make up a HUGE portion of modern-day Mexico... probably 75% plus. Some sources say 80%, relying on genetic samples. Just because one is "brown" doesn't mean he does not have any "white" ancestry.

The Juarez government wanted to secularize the country; the oligarchs and the landed gentry and church felt threatened; they thought a conservative monarchy would preserve their "rights" and "privileges"; ironically Maximillian turned out to be more liberal than the oligarchs ever suspected; consequently Maximillian's support evaporated. The end of the US civil war put a lot of pressure on the French to pull out and Maximillian's reign was doomed.

After Iturbide's downfall the Euopean population was under an attack planned by the Americans. Obviously you've never heard of Joel Poinsett and his work, like propaganda about the aztec "empire", expulsions of Spaniards, etc.

Government quickly fell into the hands of thieves and people of low backgrounds, like the gypsy who gave away half the country.

Wise people knew monarchy was needed to restore order and put a stop to american expansionism in the continent.
