Not so much jealous of your set as I am jealous of the fact that you can jam like this at midnight and not wake anyone! I would get shot in the head if I even stepped on my bass pedal by accident at midnight in my house!!!
Your new kit sounds great! You have some good skills too; keep practicing - music is a way of life. Also, I really don't like drum videos with poor sound quality (with music - everything is in the sound) this video is nicely done and I say - good job!
@MGaisbacher nice set dude, well earned. Pretty good playing too. Kinda a smooth easy jazz groove going there. Nice and relaxed for the flow. I know it was just for sound purposes but still
@Jaredrums693 dude, id just like to know whoever appointed you the right to decide what people deserve. I'm sure you didn't want to be the deusche who talks bad over the internet but you've already gone against that to a far level. This guy has worked and earned his way up to deserve these drums. You're probably no etter yourself and trying to butt in about it. How about joining the rest of us actual musicians and supporting one another without the jealousy and the bs
To everyone commenting on this video, Thanks for all the complements and thanks for the criticism thats what the comments are for but please everyone stop being immature and fighting with each other just because one person posted a negative comment. Being involved in music you have to realize there are always better people then you which I know that and I use to to push me further, sometimes I wish that those people used constructive criticism and helped out people who were at a lower level.
@jaredrums693 I was being sympathetic with you because I was trying to come to a compromise, but instead you continued to act immature about the situation. You are pathetic, and the fact that you continue to try to defend yourself is ridiculous. No one else came onto this video thinking "Little brat, you don't deserve that kit" because it's not true for one thing, but it's also a statement of jealousy. You need to mature a little bit before you start trying to "criticize".
I went with the PDP Platinum series, which are the same drums essentially. But the DW badges, along with that beautiful black mirra finish, and turret lugs makes these drums look amazing. I didn't justify spending the extra money for the DWs at the time, but now I kinda wish that I had. And you are right, if you can afford them you deserve to own them. Lots of jealous people out there. You Tube attracts some of the worst people!
@MGaisbacher- JUST IGNORE THE HATERS AND TROLLS LIKE Jaredrums693. YOU'LL GET IDIOTIC COMMENTS LIKE HIS NO MATTER WHAT YOU POST ON YOUTUBE. I'VE BEEN PLAYING DRUMS PROFESSIONALLY FOR YEARS, AND BELIEVE ME YOU'RE A REAL GOOD DRUMMER, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING YOUR AGE. NICE POCKET/GROOVE AND SOME GOOD FILLS AS WELL. THAT'S A NICE KIT, SOUNDS GREAT AND WELL-TUNED, TOO. CHEERS...
@jaredrums693 And also this video was recorded almost a year ago, if you are educated and have a good teacher you know how much better you can get within a year (still not saying I'm amazing but I feel I'm better then what is presented in this video)
@jaredrums693 I was reading through your comments, and yea @jareddrums693 I know that my playing isn't amazing but, I have only been playing for about 4 years and come from an area where there wasn't much music going on, two of the years I played i was self taught, also congrats on drummers collective, I am currently going to college for music and I'm trying to get into berklee next year, I spent the $ on the kit cuz I didn't wanna have to buy another kit 10 years down the road
@jaredrums693 I should also say that although my two covers aren't THAT bad, I'm not proud of them. I don't play that kind of music anymore. I'm a funk/r&b guy now. I'm about to go record my rendition of the infamous "half time shuffle" if you want to check it out.
@jaredrums693 You're lack of understanding of my language is not a fault on my part, but on yours. Did you even the comment I sent you two times ago? We should be arguing dude. Seriously, I like your taste in drummers, so I'm not going to be aggressive with you anymore.
@jaredrums693 Ah, the narcissist's attitude. Sad to see that you have no sense of morality. Well, if you aren't going to view this situation realistically, then obviously I have no reason to explain to you why you shouldn't have made the comment that you did in the first place. Farewell!
@jaredrums693 If you were properly educated, you'd look back on your comments and see WHY I'm speaking to you the way that I am. I'm not hard to work with, and I can tell by your comments on your other videos that you are also not hard to work with. We simply are two opinionated people who have gotten tied up on two ends of an argument. Throwing false insults back and forth between each other is not the way of coming to a compromise. That's why I do not with to argue further.
@jaredrums693 No, my hands don't tense up past 16ths lol. That doesn't make sense. I record my video with a shitty camera, which is a large contribution to the bad sound quality. Although the kit wasn't tuned very well in my two videos, I can assure you that it was from laziness, and that I do in fact have my kit tuned up wonderfully know. Lastly, if you knew anything about music, you'd know that the two songs I have covered do not incorporate dynamics.
@jaredrums693 Again, you show us your maturity level. Looks like I need to type out the situation for you. You made a stupid comment, and you understand that. The proper response would have been to say "Ok, I apologize. I will remove the comment as I do not want to venture into further endeavors." Instead, like so many others, you got mad, and decided to act like a bitch about, as a result, derogatory comments ensued. YOU are wrong. Face the fact.
@jaredrums693 XD you just don't understand anything do you? When did I EVER talk shit on the uploader? I was DEFENDING him! You again prove your substantial lack of education. I don't have low self-esteem, I don't act like an "internet tough guy", and I don't have anymore time to waste with dumbass faggots like you. You clearly have a fucked up concept of music. Have fun at your music academy!
@jaredrums693 Incorrect, yet again. You see, the only people that comment on my videos are people like you, who get pissed off at me for speaking against your stupid, uneducated comment, and decide to cope with the anger by making derogatory comments on my videos. It doesn't make any sense, as my covers aren't bad. If they were, I wouldn't upload them. It's depressing that people like you are so immature. Seriously dude, grow the fuck up.
@jaredrums693 Congrats on your success! Chances are, I'll be headed the same direction soon! LOL, as I said before, I'm 16. I've got plenty of time to make a career for myself. It's depressing to see people like you, who base all of their beliefs off of testosterone count, making it in the industry. If you are SUCH an educated musician, then tell me this. What exactly is wrong with my drumming?
@jaredrums693 Cool story bro, but learn your shit. You obviously don't deserve the ability to play music at ALL, as you have such a substantial amount of disrespect for the art. I am not trying to look like a "tough guy" either, I'm simply pointing out the simple fact that you are a coward. Also, where are you getting your info? I'm 16 you imbecilic fuck.
@jaredrums693 If you didn't want to look like a pussy who was talking shit, then you shouldn't have posted in the first place. You were proved wrong, as you said "you definitely don't deserve this kit" which makes no sense whatsoever. As he said, this kit was payed for through WORK, something you probably haven't had in years. Also, he is much more than an "average joe". He'd be fun as hell to jam and record with.
@jaredrums693 Why do u have to be at a certain level of playing to "deserve" this kit, I had a job, and a saved up for it. I think thats all it takes it "deserve" something, I worked for it and bought it. You don't have to be Steve Gadd to have nice things.
@MGaisbacher its pussy ass fags like him who is just jealous because of something that you have and he doesnt, when he learns how to respect other musicians whom are good, then he can talk. but other than that he can keep his mouth shut, your a badass drummer, he doesnt know what your really like behind a full kit, and it wouldnt even matter, because of the skill and knowledge that you have with drums and music together. all in all fuck him. lets hear his pots and pans of a drum set.
@DanDeePee thanks, and also @landrewisf I never said this was a "jam" or anything of the sort the reason of this video is to let people hear my kit because before I bought it I couldn't find any good audio examples of it and I thought it would be a good thing to put up so others can hear it if they interested in it.
@vhenmix its all a matter of taste, if ur playing rock or funk, a sound hole should be fine, I personally like it w/o a hole, gives it more of a round, full, sound. the best thing to do is just experiment and see what you like best, and in this video I'm pretty sure there was a hole in the bass
smaller lugs, more shell response, oh, and these don't have the faggot ass reinforcement rings that you tools insist on having that DESTROY the way a drum SHOULD sound, only CAMCO knew how to do it right.
This is what DW's used to sound like when they first broke away from the Keller Co. and made their own shells, anyone that complains is a fucking fag because DW is a Custom company, and they bitch cause these sound better than their boyfriends.
@mrdoitup78 What your aggressive response really necessary? Besides, you obviously haven't a clue what you are talking about. Reinforcement rings have little to no effect on the sound of a drum.
how does this kit stack up to a collector's series sound wise? I have a collector's now but I am considering a nice backup/practice kit but cant find one to test out.
@TheJayThomas Honestly I cant give u a really good answer because I have only played on a dw collectors kit once and it was tuned differently then my set. The performance sounds amazing for the price i know that, and they are the same quality, and even made in the same factory as the collectors now, the only difference i know is that they are not custom made, and they have a limited sizes and colors which brings down the price. For the money i think they are one of the best sets u can buy.
I got a chance to try the DW performance out for my self .... At first I was not impressed, then I got a chance to tune them and throw on some new heads and I was blown away. Some of the best sounding drums I have used in a long time (but a bitch to tune)
