anybody wanting to know how to set up a station= learn the basics ( set up ,antenna placement ,swr, etc) buy a rig ,power supply, swr meter ,antenna, comp/ limiter ,possibly a stl (link) bang it up tune it up & off you go

If you really believe the Council and DTI "hired a helicopter" you are as sad as the people that took part in the wrecking of many flats on the Nightingale Estate in the name of pirate radio. This wasn't "community radio" - it was all about drugs. When we cleared the aerials off the roofs it wasn't these guys that showed up - it was heavies, usually carrying some serious weapons (including a machete on one occasion). Don't be naive - there was serious organised crime behind this.

@struttjo pirate radio is not about drugs you naive twat. you think they advertise drugs over the air? been listening to the pirates for ages and never heard such a thing. obviously you'll get people involved in pirate radio who do drugs but they don't create a business from it. it's not organised crime, jesus christ, it's a bunch of friends putting up a radio station wanting to get well known.

@conoba Wont work. The transmitter needs to be as high as possible and stationary to avoid interference. Best thing to do is to just use microwave transmission from the studio to the main transmitter and always have spares available. You will loose your transmitter ever now and again.
