I've been trying to defeat this level. I kept getting stuck at the part with all the poles where you have to hit the circle with Tails first. I could've sworn I hit it two or three times but the box wouldn't unlock. So I was checking out this to see if you did anything different.

Truth be told, hitting the Targets isn't exactly as easy as it would seem. You have to remember than when you Thundershoot while moving the control stick, it will also affect where you shoot them. Try getting closer and leave the stick neutral if you can

On the plus side is a bonus should you manage to hit the target dead-on (where the Star is). Instead of 400 points and rings, you will receive 1,000 points and a 1-UP/Team Blast Ring.

I finished half of that version when I rented it.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if there is only one version of the PS2 game. Because the one I had was REALLY bad to the point were Two-Player is screwed over by running at half-speed.

Normal game is locked at 30FPS with horrible water textures. I mean it didn't look like water more than a pit of death. But one odd thing about it was that you can switch the voice between English and Japanese.

I might just get that one since it's so cheap...

Yeah it was developed for the gamecube and sloppily ported to other consoles and PC.

PS2 version has some bad lag going on sometimes, didn't realise it when I was younger but it's there.

It could've easily been just as good as the GC version if Sega put more effort into the ports.

Many people would beg to differ on this statement.

It may have slightly better looking textures, but when everything else suffers for it... that can't be good. Also, fighting Egg Emperor on that version is annoying as hell with that broken wind sound effect (*Whooo-Whoosh*) looping every second.

At some points in the game, the speech is of coarse, a sign of people trying to make this game good but at times, when a character points out the obvious for the umpteenth time, it gets annoying. I'm not trying to be mean I love this game, but you have to admit Big saying the castle is turned upside down eleven times gets annoying.

This, I have to agree with. We KNOW the castle has been flipped upside down from the first time it happened.

It would have been better if the lines would be like "It's flipped over again" instead of reusing the same line(s). ex: 0:23 = 3:20

They should make more important observations seeing how everything is flipped multiple times to move forward.

Yeah like cutting through that entire spiral right before the gravity switching device, before the rails, just jump down with tails and continue using tails, and once you touch the gravity switch you can still use tails and no flying wil be necessary.

Faster times are worth it. I've yet to see Team Sonic get a Time Bonus of 50,000 (I'm thinking it may not be possible due to when it starts going down, usually 1:30).

Yes you are correct. Bullet Station > Frog Forest > Lost Jungle > Hang Castle > Mystic Mansion.

The levels aren't too hard, but you just want to watch out. Some tricky speeding and then FWOOSH you're falling to your doom.

I don't see how you could get this far in the game, and NOT know how to do the Light Dash. You press B next to a line of rings and he will automatically dash the trail.

Notes:

Team Blast 1 was for points. Probably not necessary, but I assumed 50,000 was the target points so I took it.

Team Blast 2 was supposed to nail the bot right beside the door, but it's just out of range.

Sonic should go to level 3. I could have, but missed both a checkpoint and power core for him.

Running down the side of the tower was fine until I smashed into that mace... yeck.
