Contrary to what people and indeed the author are saying, he is in fact close to Sigur Ross and recorded this album in Sigur Ross' massive studios in Iceland. Hence, there is a connection, hence the similar sounds.

sigur ros actually does have something to do with the song. various members from the band contributed to the album as a whole, and it was recorded at sigur ros' recording studio in iceland. you can hear jimmy and jonsi talking after certain tracks (i.e. streamside).

@bobtnaig @bobtnaig You should all know that The Album Leaf gain much of it's popularity by warming up Sigur Ros in tours around the globe. Eventually, some  members of Sigur Ros even joined The Album Leaf and helped to play in some shows, also ofered their studio for Album Leaf to produce music. It's natural that they sometimes sound so familiar, but personally I like The Album Leaf so much better. It's more easy listening than ambient, and their rhythms in most of the songs is so unique.
