I can say with complete honesty that, having personally met and spoken with Al Franken (facts which I can prove) that he is an HONEST man and a good man. I cannot say any of the same of Norm Coleman. If the truth about Norm Coleman, his tactics, lies, strategies and those of his handlers were exposed, Coleman would probably be run out of the United States by the people.

Democrats had a majority in congress for Reagan's two terms. Started as a democrat mayor of St. Paul MN. Switched to republican party in 1996 in order to get reelected. He then ran for senate in 2002, and narrowly beat a dead guy (Paul Wellstone) who was replaced by former vice president Walter Mondale on the ballot at the last minute. In 2009 he loses to a satirist from Saturday Night Live.

And, at last count, there were substantially more conservatives than liberals in the U.S. The Republicans weren't voted out of office because they're conservative, they were voted out of office because they were corrupt and incompetent and because Bush was unpopular. Given the Dems approval ratings, they might see the same fate in 2010 and/or 2012.

Sure, let's restrict the majority in each Chamber and the White House to only four people. Collectively, not necessarily. Their elections represent the moral climate of their states, not necessarily the country as a whole, or on the level.
But when you sum up total people elected who aren't in your narrow ideology, then you have a better claim to the current moral climate than you can get from a mere four people. I'm guessing statistics isn't your strong suit.

Why? Well the Democrats had the majority in both the House and the Senate. It should also be noted that a vast majority of those Democrats that voted against it came from the South - you know, that region later turned into a Republican stronghold thanks to the "Southern Strategy".

@AUgrad00 You got it backwards there chief. Conservatives don't believe in separation of church and state - despite it being right there in the 1st Amendment (I know, I know, they love the 2nd Amendment more). Conservatives decided warrantless wiretapping was ok, thus ignoring the 4th amendment. Conservatives believed "Free Speech Zones" were perfectly acceptable after 9/11 - you remember those cages I'm sure.
So, how have "libs" shit on the Constitution?

Seperation of church and State is a lie. Deleware Constiution:
Art. 22. Every person who shall be chosen a member of either house, or appointed to any office or place of trust . . . shall . . . make and subscribe the following declaration, to wit: "I ________, do profess faith in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ His only Son, and in the Holy Ghost, one God, Blessed for evermore; and I do acknowledge the holy scripture of the Old and New Testaments to be given by divine inspiration."[1]

And while I may not agree with some of the patriot act
controlling your healthcare and controlling your diet is not

Never BEFORE has the federal goverment FORCED people to
purchase a good or service. Again NEVER before has this happened.

1st Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"
See, if anyone tries to make a law that puts one religion over another (Like say, making it illegal for marriage to be anything but 1 man, 1 woman thus preventing religions that don't believe that from exercising their religion freely), that would be unConstitutional. We're talking federal...

@AUgrad00 As for Delaware, look at the state website for the Constitution, there's currently only 17 articles in it. So while it did say that back in 1776, it doesn't say that today because it would violate the US Constitution which, all states ratified - including Delaware.
