  • Brings back a lot of memories since I moved away....it seemed so much cleaner and less crowded then, looks so much different now.

  • It loked alot cleaner and all the people wern't fat or druggies etc. What the hell happened :(

  • @psychodamned that bar was surendipitys and we got barred from there for somking a joint inside - we were young but to think we had the audacity to fire one up in a pulic bar and pass it under the table so no one would see! not sure we knew what planet we were on. im not fat though

  • I hate this place as well i hope it burns to fuckin' ground, nothin' good to ever come out of hear its the last stop before hell! SCUM!

  • thank u very much for these videos m8..it brings bak soo many great memories!!

  • i loved those fountains, while mum and aunties rested me and my cousins and siblings would play in them, i was 6 back in 1992 ... bolton was awesome back then :):)

  • @Januarychic i wonder what it was that made it so much better in those days ?

  • Does anyone know what the price of a litre of petrol was back in 1992? Around 50p?

  • I saw a No. 9 Express!

  • Things have changed so much since 1992!! Everything looks so...old! Look at the cars!

  • what a mess bolton council have made of our town centre since somebody decided it would be a good idea to build the middlebrook retail park with the promise of 2000 new[?] jobs? sadly all it did was BOARD up the once lovely town centre...

  • @beamwand ur talkin crap

  • I miss the Water Place :(

  • I live in the town centre. Wasn't in Bolton 17 years ago but I can tell the difference, it's like a totally different place. And people looked more classy then..

  • 3.25 man scratching his arse made me giggle somewhat. It's weird I was only 1 at the most when this video was made and it looks like a different era completely

  • Haha, was that the old number 9 Express bus early on?

  • What was the name of the place next to burden park.

glad you got water place on loved that place when i was little.

do you have any more of bolton or around.

  • @tatty16 yeah , there's "Bolton 1988" drving towards Breightmet xD

  • @tatty16 normid

  • Wow, i never thought a video of Bolton could be so interesting! Really impressed that you got the Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevnin News on there too.

  • Thanks Tom, your comments are just what i wanted, in fact perhaps more interesting than the video itself, so glad i put it on

  • Haha thanks for putting this vid up. I would have been 8 when this was filmed. Great to look back at it all.

Burnden Park... Bolton Do It all... Just realised Cloughs Opticians still have the same sign on the side! Morrisons hasn't changed a bit either from the outside!

LOL, I like how the womans big hair got in your way at 4:12.

That blue booth at 5:19 rings a bell as well. Can vaguely remember that. Kingburger, lol. I think I nearly died eating something from there once.

  • @tomharding lol 4.12 that's no woman, that's my wife

  • @ishnummunshi You know, I had a feeling it was her after I saw her in various other parts of the video!!

I apologise if she still has big hair and/or I offended her!

  • @tomharding no problem Tom, like most women she's been through about 20 hair styles and regrets most of them lol

  • Great BankScam, glad u want to use it! Hoped people would find it interesting.

  • I'm doing a games art project at bolton uni, we're designing a northern town in the 1990s - this is just what I needed. THANK YOU!

  • I wish more people would have done this, it is absolutely amazing looking back. I would have been 6 back then but a lot of it does look familiar. Notice the old normid shopping centre on manchester road which is now asda. And texas that was replaced by homebase. Excellent videos!

  • Thanks Andy mate, wish I'd taken more film and earlier too. Also wish I'd gone into some of the shops and filmed inside.

  • I moved to Bolton in this year and had my son. We used to walk into Bolton town centre on a Sunday when everything was closed - and had to remember to take a couple of pounds for the homeless who would approach us for cash! -

  • @sandrabatten66 yeah i remember them too Sandra - especially in that passageway leading into Newport street

  • wow what a difference...the people seem more relaxed somehow!

  • I love the angry mum at 2:09... "Aaron! AARON!!"

  • " EEvening News " This is unreal footage, thanks for posting. I was 17 back then and I used to think that Bolton had taken a dive since the 80's, I take that back. Burnden Park, Water Place, the fountains on the Square, its all gone now, Jesus.

  • Wow this is incredible! Strange to see a time without the ubiquity of mobile phones! Bolton town hall looks stunning as always.

  • Thanks! Keep filming - in another 17 years today's footage will be just as fascinating.

  • You're right Spammy! Just think if we could see video of places 100 years ago! Wonder if this will survive that long???

  • OMG the water place - used to love that place!! Oh and Burden Park Football stadium... thats going back some!!! Haha x

  • Me too Farnworth lass! Wish I'd filmed more now - gone into a few shops. I took a couple of minutes of Farnworth too on another video. x
