  • i like matt smith more than any other docter actors :P

  • can i say it? im going to say it, "Worst Doctor ever" :p

  • i wish the doctor didnt have to regenerate

i want matt smith to stay in the role forever

matt smith is definately the best doctor ever

    thumbs up if you agree

  • doctor who does not use guns. he doesnt want to hurt ppl

  • @DoubleRT2 he doesn't use it as a weapon, he uses it to shoot out the gravity globe

  • @DoubleRT2 I dunno, he seemed pretty intent on shooting someone at the end of End Of Time. :/

  • i think its stupid because they killed the last of scaro (the last 3 darleks) theres no more darleks but them stupid colured ones there not darleks (to tall and the colour is dum lol)

  • doctor who is shit now, they have run out of ideas, its repetiitive and boring.

  • @RozzatheGreat thats not true the show has really changed and is becoming much better than previous series season six is going to be fantastic!

  • is it me or has the dr become more cruel?

  • what the hell "48" the doctor doesnt use guns

  • @proudwitch33 thats not true the doctor used a gun in the end of time and almost used one in the doctors daughter episode.

  • The Smilers (Crazy Freakin' Carnival dudes with the ironicly furious expressions) look awesome!

  • I think "Geronimo" and "Allons-y" are on pretty much the same leve, catchphrase-wise. Both brilliant.

  • I CANT WAIT XD

  • the eleventh hour was so funny and mint! every1 has been going around saying he looks stupid so he'll be stupid, but that teaches everyone to shut they're gobs when 12 and 13 come around too. i hope one of the next two is ginger, cause it would b funny to c his reaction. i promise every where else in the world where it is yet to air, you won't b disappointed, and don't go over the internet trying to watch the episode cause thats spoiling it!

  • Why does the doctor have a gun? ;o

    It looks amazing, I can't wait :D

  • Before: Alonzi

    Now: GERONIMO!

    LOLZ

  • I don't think his catchphrase is "Geronimo" he says it once in the trailer.

If you look in the other trailers he doesn't repeat it.

  • @Evsta101 True, but he does also say it at the very end of The End of Time.

  • @Evsta101 geronimo is going to be his new caychphrase man, because he says it at the end of THE END OF TIME and now in the trailer.

  • @Evsta101 It is

  • @Evsta101 he says it after he regenerates, when he jumps down into the TARDIS after meeting amelia, before the star whale vomits them up, and he texts it to river before he fly's into the exploding TARDIS

  • lo lwhats with the 80's white (shellled) dalek

  • Geronimo???:( Like they couldn't come up with the less cliched catchprase. This is so cheesy. Allons-y was a thousand times better.

The teaser looks rather crappy. Hopefully Moffat will prevail...

  • Good Luck The Moff!

    xx

  • looks like his catchphrase is either "geronimo" or "trust me i'm the doctor"

  • I prefer ALONZI

  • I'm not sure about the supply teacher outfit but he looks like a new spin on the doctor.

  • Looks like his catchphrase is Geronimo. I've got high hopes for the new series.

  • dr who is all about change. if it was up to some of you "FANS" dr who would have ended with the great william hartnall.roll on easter

  • Allons-y!

  • @thedancorp1 Go back and watch some classic episodes, the Doctor has used a weapon on more than one occasion, including The End of Time ;)

  • yeah but that wasnt the 10th doctors nature (shows how strict and desperate the timelords were) what also shocked me was SUICIDE!!! really? they want to die and take everyone else with them to doctor who heaven

  • @thedancorp1 so does your face

  • Comment removed

  • Matt Smith is a very capable actor, but his face looks as though it was attached by a Generation Game contestant.

  • By your logic, nothing Tennant does is "beleivable" from trailers we saw of him in ANY season he was in, yet in context, he pulled off the role. Face facts, you don't want to give Smith a chance because you're biased towards the previous actor. Grow up

  • ...And keep downvoting Tennant tits, your day is over, and you lost.

  • @heyarnoldsknee grow up???? it's a kid's show and i'll cry if i want to =)

  • I wonder if Smith's Doctor will be able to replicate the Karate skillz of the Third Doctor.

  • Im not sure if this is right but from rumours i have heard, the WII episode they recover a dalek and turn it into a soldier or summat. I think thats why the dalek is wearing those army things and have green paint at 0:21

  • uau! what the punch!

  • The 11th Doctor is going to be like the 5th Doctor, Adult Personality in a Young Body, unlike the other doctors they were like Old Body in Old Body or Young body in Young Body.

I Loved peter davidson (5th Doctor) and i hope to enjoy Matt Smith!

  • matt smith will be a mix of both young and old.

  • return of the sea devils :O

    exciting ;-0

  • @woohootrainiscoming Contrary to rumour, there won't be any Sea Devils this year.

  • I gotta say, I'm pretty dang excited...

  • pause it at 0:21, you will see that the dalek is wearing a coat... whats all that about??

  • @samhall123123 It's military equipment. The Daleks are disguised as military weapons during WWII - that's why they're painted grey and have an equipment belt wrapped around them.

  • 0:23 Its the Sea Devils

  • @UltraPrimus I'm pretty sure the Sea Devil rumour was debunked. It was leaked that the Silurians will return, but someone could have been misinformed.

  • 0:21 What! Russell T Davies + Steven Moffat said Daleks + Cybermen have been killed off for real thjis time

  • We all knew that was never gonna happen, although admittedly I did think that they would perhaps give them more of a break than they have.

  • ...And you beleived them. Foolhardy you.

  • @thepenink4 the daleks are the backbone of the show, what did you think? ;)

and the cybermen are gonna come back too, i think it'll be something like the tomb of the cybermen

  • stupid jeronimo. thats a crap catch phrase.

  • Alonze...what a crap catchphrase

  • The Weeping Angels Are Creepy

  • I'm going to try to LIKE Matt Smith.

But i want ALLONS-Y not GEbloodyRONIMO!

  • @Bethywethy6 Fail

  • the doctor just wouldn't t be the doctor if he wasn't eccentric and a little bit nuts!!!!

  • I was worried That the new doctor wouldnt be like the old one, but it seems hes gonna be like tht!

  • @Blaikyscoots That;'s the whole point!! That he *isn't* like the old one!! Jesus, fucking Christ, watching some fucking Classic Who and understand the canon!

  • how can the daleks be back they were destroyed by the part human doctor

and does he hit it with a hammer or somthing

    one last thing

is it just me or do the tardis and sonic screwdriver look just slightly different

anyway bye david i will miss you

    and good luck matt

  • @MrMajinvegeta Rumor is some exist in the past and go to earth, somehow they become friends with Winston Churchill and in one episode they offer the Doctor some tea.

But from what you can see above, it doesn't go so well and the Daleks probably start killing again.

  • the things about series 5 being series 1 is false.

Only the new staff working on the next series called it series 1 during production, since it was their first work on the show. Officially, it is series 5.

  • why was he shooting a gun?!?! the doctor never carries a gun! that's kinda his thing!

  • yh thats 1 of the best things about the doctor he can save the world with out a gun

  • maybe he wasnt shooting at someone but at something like rope or to make an explosion. it would be pretty bad if he started killing all of a sudden

  • Geronimo!?!?! Why!?!?! I cringe when I hear Matt Smith say it. Not classy nor clever. Lacking that finesse I've grown to love with David Tennant's Doctor, my Doctor.

  • There is no need for foul language. Sorry you are so upset over a comment on a youtube page. Get more creative with the things you write instead of lashing out at a person you don't even know. That is not supporting anything, that's just lame.

  • he aint got a thing on tennent!!

  • It is way to early to tell if Matt Smith is going to be a good Doctor or a bad doctor. People were unsure about Tom Baker Replacing Jon Pertwee, but then he turned out to be the best one. Matt Smith for all we know could be the next Tom Baker for all we presently know. And by the way the name is spelled T.E.N.N."A".N.T

  • It'll be interesting. The best doctor was 9, anyway. :P (imho) I'm a little annoyed about "Geronimo", but I'm sure it could be worse.

Pleased to see Matt Smith's grown eyebrows. xD

  • Was that a weeping angel I saw?

  • yes it was :D watever you do don't blink!

  • Continued as far as I'm concerned its season 31

  • Okay to everyone who is bitching about the way he looks, David Tennant was possibly the only good looking Doctor *Possibly I'm a straight male I wouldn't make myself the biggest judge on that* But how sexy was Hartnell?

Next off to all who are pissed at "Geronimo!" The Doctor has had worse, anyone remember "Oh my giddy aunt!"

Give Matt a chance for God's sake's. David wasn't the first he's the TENTH DOCTOR! The Doctor changes all the time that's the show!

    My only complaint...Series 1 Really?...

  • should of got Sean Pertwee to play doctor who

  • seen this like 200 times now god i caln`t wait, i love this show roll on the spring :)

  • Matt Smith, kinda looks like David Tennant, yet less unattractive. Something about his jaw makes me =(

However, won't keep me from watching Dr. Who. The episodes look good!

Can anyone tell me when this new season of Dr. Who will be airing on BBC America?

  • Ah so i'm not the only one who is like eh? about his jaw then lol

  • I made a mistake on my former comment saying Matt is "less unattractive". I meant that he is "less attractive" than Tennant. And yeah, I can't really watch Matt Smith because he reminds me of Gordon Ramsey. Actually now that I think about it, they could be like brothers or something.

  • Well i can watch him but i dunno if he can compare to David's acting talent...we'll see.

  • Geronimo begins with a G, get it right punks :D

  • JERRRROOOONNNNIIIIMMMMOOOOOO !!!!!

i think hes going to be a great doctor :D

  • well, they're certainly giving this series the 'hype' treatment, personally, i was only worried about Murray Gold not staying, but i'm happy now... let's hope this series is a good one! it's got quite a lot to beat!

  • i was hoping 2 see zygons in s5 (s1)

  • I've been watching doctor who for a long ass time, it was a shame to see Eccleston leave. Now Tennants gone. Not big on Matt Smith. I looks like the producers or whoever are trying to bring the show back to when it was retro (notice the suit and bow-tie). I'm not stoked for the new season, Jeronimo?

  • I'll miss David Tennant horribly, but I think Matt Smith looks good as well. From just the brief clips we've got, he looks full of glee and excitement and...well...doctor-y!

  • huh. That was River Song in there. hmm.

  • I think he's gonna be good, we just need to keep David Tennant's KICKASS performance out of out heads, they're separate actors with separate interpretations on the role. On the other hand, Matt Smith's short introduction was uncomfortably Tennant-esque. Hahah

  • Wasn't that A Grey Dalek

  • Geronimo? Really?

    *sigh*

  • Oh, come now. Don't be a party pooper.

  • Maybe getting shot in the alley was traumatic for him, although it wasn't the sole reason for his seventh death, and that, plus the carnage of the Time War led him to abstaining from guns.

Also a question, is that a Silurian? I haven't watched the Silurian episodes yet, so I couldn't be sure myself.

  • yes that is a sulirian my m8 loves the suilrains i wished they had the old costumes of the suilrains

  • matt smiths doctor looks like he will be a combination of indianna jones and that mad proffesor in the movie back to the future. i cant wait for series five! all new writers all new tardis and brand new producer and logo this is going to be brilliant.

  • it's Serie 2005 Season 5. not serie 5

  • I hate to tell you guys, but Tom Baker as the Doctor used a gun to kill a giant rat in "Talons of Weng-Chiang." The Doctor doesn't like guns but he has been known to use them.

  • Thanks for bringing that up, Kynoceph.

Also keep in mind that Peter Davison carried a side arm as protection against the Daleks and even Davros himself in the episode "Resurrection of the Daleks".

The Doctor doesn't like to kill. He does everything he can to avoid it and some of his incarnations see things differently than others, but the Doctor's not stupid. He'll do what he has to do to save lives, and to me that's more heroic than putting a stringent moral code above innocents.

  • LiesEntitled: I'm shocked by the fact that I get to see Frankenstein's Monster portray the Doctor. MAYBE NOW HE'LL FINALLY GET THE RESPECT HE DESERVES.

Of course, Boris Karloff was considered for the role, only he was slightly dead at the time. I, personally, think that Mr. Smith looks more like Joseph Merrick, who is more commonly referred to as THE ELEPHANT MAN OMG

I think his face is strange and ugly and beautiful. And if he proves himself as the Doctor, then he'll be lovelier still.

  • Honestly, why are so many people concerned with what he *looks* like?

Was Hartnell a hottie? Was Troughton a sex-machine? Did Pertwee bring you pleasure? WAS TOM BAKER A SWEET LITTLE LOVE-MAKER? If you said 'yes' to any of those questions, then you're kinda awesome and I want to shake your hand, because I agree with you. Sort've. But if you said 'OMFG NO', well, there you are.

My point is, SMOKING HOT is not a prerequisite for portraying the Doctor. It's got nothing to do with the role.

  • *shakes head shamefully*

The doctor changes, wasnt the first time and won't be the last...

  • i swear these doctors are getting younger and younger

  • @goodisgoog good god, your right.

by the time they get to the doctors 13th. (and supposed final.) life, he'll be in his early teens.

the fact is, Hartnell was old when he took up the role of the 1st doctor, and from then on the actors kept getting younger.

  • Davies has said repeatedly that someone will undo the "12 regenerations" rule and the series will continue for as long as it wants to.

  • Hartnell 55 then Troughton was 46 and then we got Pertwee who was 51 and there all dead now but then we were given the great Tom Baker and he was 40 but then it was Davison's turn and this is where the decent starts because he is 31 then McCoy who was 44 and McGann 37 Eccleston 27 Tennant 36 and now the douche bag Matt Smith who is 27 and i heard somewhere that they will be looking for 18- 21 yr olds to play the next one

  • the next one cannot be young because riversong meets his last regeneration and she said that he looks older than tennant

  • actually she looks into 10s eyes and can tell by looking into his eyes that he is the youngest version that she has encountered..she didnt say anything about him being physically younger then 11..its kind of like if she ran into john pertwees doctor and looked into his eyes ,,somehow she could tell that her version despite being physically younger was actually the older incarnation,, you digg sidbear??

  • i digg :D

  • @georgemiser They haven't kept getting younger. After Davison they got older with Baker and McCoy, went younger with McCann, went older with Eccleston, went young er with tennant, and younger agan with Smith.

The fact is, there is no design about the age of the actor, it's who is the *best* at the time to play him.

  • Get rid of that fucking bow tie and get a different hair style and then your on your way!

  • vauxellx: But that bow tie is pimp.

And the big stupid hair is kinda big stupid awesome.

And he's wearing braces. YES TO THIS.

His costume is almost an update of Two's, which is pretty cool. If he ever shouts "Oh, my giddy aunt!", then I'll KNOW something is up, haha.

Go on, Eleven. Strut your stuff. Show us what you've got.

  • ITA. Matt Smith looks like he's gonna be great but I can't stand his costume. His "experimental costume" earlier last year with that purple Indiana Jones cardigan looked MUCH better.

  • Great preview of what we can expect in the fifth series of Doctor Who featuring Matt Smith as the new doctor AllThingsWho

I also spotted that Matt still wears David Tennant's costume in a couple of clips.

  • Really? I looked at some filming clips and MS is wearing a blue shirt and a stripy blue tie, more like an office worker. Maybe he's going undercover again?

  • @SkullXII He's in Ten's suit just after regenerating. It's stills from 'The Eleventh Hour'. :)

  • But Ten wasn't wearing blue,

    :S

  • it's not blue.

  • Heheh, I love how Ten is both his number, and his name cut short.

  • Does look veyr interesting.. and yay the angels are back! XD but i'll miss David D: to me he'll always be the best Dr! Bless Matt though, he's gunna have a lot to live up too ;)

    David FTW XP

  • wat the hell is that thing at 0:20 (Not the Dalek The wierd face)

  • I am very sad to see David Tennant go -I cried the whole end of the show!!!! But I must say - it looks really good - different but really good! I can't wait to see what Matt Smith brings to The Doctor!!

  • I'll always be a fan of Dave and Tom,but this new Doc looks interesting and exciting,i'll definitely give him a try when the new season arrives in my country.

  • @/Bethywethy6

If you notice the Dalek actually looks like the retro daleks from the classic seeries - its whiter and greyer and not gold. I guess Steven Moffatt is going full haul with this change to the programme. Im looking foward to it.

  • Who's the new assistant?

  • Karen Gillan plays the new assistant, who is named Amy Pond.

  • at 0.20 there's a dalek! They've GOT to stop bringing them back!

    (otherwise, looks good :D).

  • @jwp999999 I highly doubt he uses it to kill someone

  • He used a gun, yes, but do you know what he was shooting at? And, if you are any kind of fan you would know that the Doctor has used a gun to kill. I can think of 2 straight up, he shot at a Cyberman, and the mutation of a Dalek.

  • Did anybody else hear something like this? Apparently season 5 isn't going to be called season 5. It's going back to season 1. I'm not sure if it's true though.

  • It is indeed true. In production it's being referred to as series 1. Whether this will be used on DVDs etc. remains to be seen, Personally I think it'll be a mistake to use it on merchandise, as it will almost certainly cause some people confusion.

  • @AllThingsWho Well technically this isnt season 5 at all, or 1 for that matter. Doctor Who is an ancient show!

  • @tGJimo Very true, I've got no idea what the season number would be in that case!

  • I believe this is season 31 if you continue the season numbering from the classic series

  • tGJimo, while that's true, calling season one season one made sense since the show was being rebooted after a VERY long hiatus, whilst this ones carrying right on. It'd be like Lost calling season six season one again.

  • Not season, -series-. From a production standpoint, yes, both Eccles' run and this next year of the Doctor are called Series 1. This is official.

The seasons from the original Doctor Who are not officially carried over to the reboot in any official capacity.

  • I'm pretty sure it's called a season. Doctor Who *IS* the series.

  • BBC refers to it's seasons as series. All British Television is referred to in like regard. What we call season one, the English call series one.

  • Really? That's pretty weird. I'm English myself but I never knew that.

    Thanks.

  • Its called series one on set, but one tv, and dvd and release it is being referred to nas "Series 5"

  • i'm sorta excited for season 5..... i wanna see what matt smith can do :D

  • I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the return of the Weeping Angels. One of the creepiest Whovian "enemies" by a long shot.

  • "One of"? I've watched all the Saw movies, I've seen some of Michael Myers original Halloween movies, but "Blink" from Doctor Who was still easily the scariest out of all of them. (I've still to watch Paranormal Activity thogh)

    Am I the only one?

  • @SkullXII

Well, I never saw the Saw series, didn't interest me. The original Halloween movies weren't that bad in my opinion either, more entertaining than anything, then again I did watch those with the lights on. lol But I meant more when compared to say, the kid from The Empty Child. Many consider that kid to be the creepiest with the Angels in second, I personally disagree and place the Angels in first and the kid in second.

I do like the looks of Matt though, he sounded a bit like David.

  • @Dracoa79

And am I the only one who thinks that Emma Watson would make a great future companion for The Doctor, or maybe even Time Lady?

  • It scared the crap out of me first (and second) time I watched it. It didn't help much I was sitting my my dark living room surrounded by shadows xD

  • He shot the cyber-leader didn't he?

  • Sometimes he is forced to. Like in, I don't know...David Tennant's last story!

  • @PrincessRock1000 He has used guns plenty of times in the past. Tennant used one just last episode.

  • But I think he means the Doctor as of the reboot. Before the reboot, Gallifray was intact and the Doctor had no reason to shy away from Guns. During the time war, though, all kinds of nasty stuff happened which digusted the Doctor completely. "And then I got clever... I started manipulating people into taking their own lives".

I don't think anybody expected the Doctor to go that dark, and once he mentioned that his hatred of guns makes perfect sense. So why is the Doctor so trigger happy now?

  • @SkullXII It depends on what he's shooting. There is absolutely, positively no reason not to use guns, if what you're aiming at is not life.

I have much faith in Moffat, we've seen his writing at work; I don't think he's going to turn around and make the Doctor into the Punisher.
