If you're talking monsters, I would suggest...Salem's Lot (Original or Remake), The Howling, Prince Of Darkness, Signs (scary, but does have some heart to it aswell), Dead Birds, Silver Bullet, Sole Survivor (1983), The Descent. Slashers...Halloween (1978), Black Christmas (1974), Duel (1971).
