yep - that tone is odd but, VR has always had an odd tone. having a bad sound (odd tone) just hi-lights to me how good he is. I see many guitarists get so hung up on tone and to the point they can not play anything without a good wall of sound behind them. try playing well with less than quality set up and see how you sound - prolly pree bad... until you master the basics. Vernon, can you play this again but with a wall of sound ...please

Guys he didnt play it sloppy at all. if you think this sounds bad because hes playing it bad then you are the one that doesnt know about guitar. it starts to sound like that when your volume knob on the guitar is relatively low. ya he screwed up with the knob but it wasnt because he cant play.

He and Satriani were playing a hendrix song (I think it was purple haze), and he was soloing for about 4minutes straight while satch was fighting for a solo
