@mcfp95 No, Alonso also paid his way into F1. He used to be a pay driver in Minardi. Yes, Alonso is very talented, but he like most of the drivers in f1 today have been a pay driver. But not every driver have payed for a drive in F1. Schumacher, Petrov, Alonso are some of the drivers who have payed their way into F1.

I'm not a fan of Alonso, but I can admit that be is probably the best driver in F1 together with Hamilton.

In Alonso, what I know he wasn't rich. So probably his manager Briatore bought him the seat. When Alonso entered Minardi, Briatore had already left. And by the way, it's nothing bad to be a pay driver if you have talent.

But don't you think that Petrov did a good job in GP2.

@ikke3wie3anders3 I wouldn't write Heidfeld off just yet I reckon his poor showing was probably cos he had a bad setup and I heard he got some damage on his car in the first few laps. He started 18th then went to 12th. Thats not too shabby if he had a damaged car. I didn't see the damage or how it was caused but I heard about it. I have to hand it to Petrov though, he drove a great race. Driver of the day. All the rookies did well and I enjoyed that GP. Webber disappointed me tho

I also think Heidfeld was awesome because unless the car broke down he would always finish the race. He even beat Kimi in the same team back in 01 at Sauber, and this is coming from a Raikkonen fan. He outqualified Kimi in 05 (Germany) when the McLaren and Renault were roughly much faster than most cars.
