  • so jazzy, isnt it?

  • yeah, you're right!

  • aww this is so beautiful, is it okay to send me the score/sheet music for this piece? i cant seem to find it anywhere

  • Sorry, I don't have it anymore. It's out of last year's ABRSM Grade 7 book...

  • @ColinMitchellMusic i wish i had that to play this year! :( piece of shit book that i have right now! :(

  • i like how his finger curve =(

  • can i play this song faster? is it wrong?

  • it looks/sounds easy, why is it grade 7?

  • I have no idea!

  • @KeysLavr For the technical aspect. This piece's difficulty is not about hitting a bunch of notes at high speed, but playing the notes with passion, power, depth, and emotion.

  • hi,colin ! i play this piece ofr my test next week. u played it well ! god job.

btw,i played it with different tempo. i played it slower :) and for me,it's also good. i can get the feeling with slower tempo than faster. myb u should try to play with slower tempo :) but yours is good :)

  • Thanks elsinablee! Good luck with your test!

  • Well played. However, u re missing the french feeling to this piece.

I also enjoyed ure piano....wat brand is it?

  • Its a Kemble....Yeah, I know what you mean, the essential flavour is missing on this recording...

  • Nice playing wooooo! But get rid of the metronome and let loose more of the passion!!! (and i thought it was a little slow) nice!

  • it was perfect... maybe too perfect

  • Well, it ain't perfect for sure! But thanks!

  • geez, everybodys better than me...):

  • Wow that sounds great! Im doing this for Grade 7 and I love it (except those darn triplets O_O). I really like your intepretation though :D

  • Thanks for your kind comment!

  • Hi. I'm Grade 7 too, taking the exam this Feb. I didn't play the Faure piece but I'm playing the Grovlez sarabande, though I've heard this a lot. I would have thought it to have a lot more rubato and expressivo pieces, but maybe it's the quality of the mike such that I can't hear much dynamics, though I think it's a bit too straight in terms of rhythm and tempo. Maybe a bit more liberal with the expression. But the sound is nice though!

  • Yeah,I know what you mean. I know this might sound like excuses, but the automatic limiter on the camcorder mic kept readjusting the levels, so it sounds like there are no dynamics! I agree though that more rubato would make this piece work better.

  • hiya colin, do u use the sustain pedal for this piece (or in grade 7 in general)

  • Hi Chicouk -yes, I do!

  • what is the name of this piece?

  • Andante Moderato

No. 5 from Pieces breves Op. 84 by Faure

  • This is brilliant! Your piano has a wonderful sound and superbly played!

I'm thinking of doing this piece for my grade 7 - not sure yet though as I like most of the B pieces :P

    Well done!

  • Hi Marion and thank you so much for your lovely comment! Good luck with the choices you make for your grade 7! -Colin

  • Hi Robert and i really appreciate you leaving that lovely comment! Would love to hear you play sometime so do let me know if you ever post a video of your piano playing on You Tube! -Colin

  • Wow this is beautiful im robert im in grade 6

  • its brilliant recording but some of the last notes are incorrect. look at the last three bars.

  • Oh yeah - in the left hand it needs an E sharp to G sharp in the semiquavers where I have played a C sharp to E sharp-oops, silly me:-) Well spotted!

  • love it! Perfect tempo :-D

it seems slightly slower than the CD I've heard but I think you bring out the feeling of this piece beautifully!

  • Oh thank you wkdangel for such a nice comment:-)!

  • very talented :)

  • Thank you!

  • wow really nice playing! i am playing this piece for my grade seven exam in a month's time too.... but i really like your playing, i find it better than the recording cos the way you play brings calmness... :P

  • Thanks for your nice cooment, vocaldude! Good Luck with your Grade 7 exam! -Colin

  • Thanks for listening, NotForAbuse !

  • Wow o.o It is really like the recording in the CD . Nice

  • i like your triplets.........so nicely played

  • Oh, thanks, Candy :)!

  • Hi Baltointhe Black and many thanks for your really nice comments.

  • Absolutely flawless. I had a little trouble with the timing when I started learning this but it's lovely to hear it played properly :) Thank you for such a great performance.

  • Hey Colin =) once again you've amazed me. I was going to choose this one for my exam but I chose B2.

  • Thanks Stevey . B:2 'La Sarabanda' is a really nice choice.

  • Excellent playing and the sound is clear and brilliant! Bravo!

  • I admire your playing so much so that is such an uplifting comment from you -Thank you!

  • I'm not taking the exam but thanks anyway:-)

  • it is no doubt you play that well. in fact i think you are a wonderful player and i also thik you have very good potential. i am also playing this for grade 7 and i thought there were not so many pedal markings, only at certain bars and it sounds a little to loud....but i think you still play very well. Your technique is superb!

  • Thanks for your comment ,PalzlandPure.

I agree this video does sound loud - this is mainly due to the camcorder mics automatically raising recording levels during quiet passages. This was my first Youtube video and I got the sound level problem sorted out on all my subsequesnt videos.

  • oh okay...anyway..you're great! Good luck for your grade 7

  • Thank you Aiofe92. Good Luck with your Grade 7 !

  • beautiful. i love faure. i will be learning this for my grade 7. you play it really nicely.

  • So nice...thanks and all the stars for you!

  • Thanks LillyC68 :-)

  • Wow ! Great Playing !

I wish I was as good as you !!
