Don't get the point of the video. Can use it as a starting point that leads into other topics of discussion such as "The Role of Music in Education" or "Positive Effects of Classical Music".
Back in high school our music teacher got us to play a few Beatles tunes, Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals, TV themes. Pop tunes but done with an orchestra.
I have a F/T schedule and practice music with 2 local ensembles that perform in churches & senior homes. You probably play an instrument as well.
Hahaha, I had to rewatch that segment from 0:50 a couple of times to get the laffs out of my system!! <XD
As for your question, I think there are some moments where you just feel like being carried away by the symphonies of bach, while other times you feel like grooving the fuck out to some bloody beetroots. Btw, I don't think I need to tell you this, but never stop enjoying your music!! The sounds you pull outta that cello - simply beautiful~
haha sometimes you're at a loss of words it seems, oh and you missed Country as one of your music genres. But yeah, classical has been...deprived of its, musical popularity you could say.
i think its a great idea, i play upright bass but that was a mistake, i should of picked cello, but when i picked bass i had not herd cello once in my life but now i think that their awesome, i can play the swan and bachs cello suit no. 1 , that used to be my favorite song but the i herd the swan and i love it. i have been playing for 3 years and im 12
@Fred28Taylor Left handers don't necessarily have to play left-handed instruments. :) Many left handers play string instruments too. Left handers have the advantage of more control in their left hand but have to work on the right. :)
this is a very good idea. I think you should continue creating videos like this because its very appealing to young viewers. In this way, people wouldn't loose interest in learning stuff about music and I must admit its kinda funny. Keep it up, Nathan.
Hey Nathan, you finally got braces! :)) Anyway, you're right. People should bring classical music back to life. Cause the other Genres of music will remain there, and the classical era can easily fade away, thats why people should bring it back to life.
i think you need an opening sequence or at least a catch phrase. im sure that prodigy brain of yours will have no problem thinking of something. rock on nathan chan.
I think this is a great idea, and am really looking forward to where you're going with this...on a slightly unrelated note, man, I haven't seen you in forever. Hope you're doing well! David Ko
A great idea, Nathan. It is refreshing for a young classical musician open to all genres of music. You look quite hip hop yourself in this video, waaay cool!!! I am very interested in the way music can influence my moods, much more than the written word or even images. Just think how effective the soundtrack in the shower scence in "Pshyco" is in adding to the potency and horror. Best of luck on this new venture. You are a great young man!!
im a cellist too. your beast. XD

I agree that you should play your cello in the videos. You are such a great musician. It's also wonderful that you enjoy talking about music.

Interesting Idea Indeed,
on a side note, I noticed you wore your watch on your right arm, are you left handed? I didn't know they made left handed cello's
