We all know LCARS was Unix based. In the 24th century, a shocker was discovered. When the Borg traveled back in time, they had a failsafe when Picard blew up their sphere. They launched drone 666 of windoze... Bill Gates, farther into the past. He was built to disrupt Earth's computer network and buy out Unix. So far, he has been successful. He has 90% of the OS market. However, in the year 2009, a malfunction in the NYSE's computer (built by microsoft) plunged the US into an economic crisis...

@thefinalfrontier1701 Drone 666 inadvertently caused his own demise when the government contracted with Linux because of Microsoft's lousy OS. Microsoft fell and the timeline resumed. Unfortunately, because of the Borg, the economic crisis turned into a depression which turned into World War III. Cochrane, instead of building his ship out of pretty lights and shiny metal, built it out of an old missile... and so on.

Can you turn this back into your normal windows system? Without messing with files and such?

@The1stDirector By default it's run as a program on top of explorer. So when you exit, it takes you back to your desktop. You can run it as your shell if you want, but it's not feature complete enough to use that way. So, yes, all you have to do is exit to get back to explorer.

LCARS looks cool but seems really impractical compared to windows, mac or say red hat set up.

I just modded some rainmeter skins and created a rocketdock skin to have a similar effect, but it only works on my desktop.

I guess I should have googled before I started coding all over the place. :(
