i was born and rised in that town till i had to move to az and i was so glad when i went to visit my dad and the new skate park was finnaly done and i had a great time and a week after i left me dad told me they closed it down. im glad for all those kids that r protesting they have every right to be able to skate and the town is dumb for building it and then closing it down for how much it was worth and how much better it is from the old little lot it use to look like
Good thought! We should not have the "kids" take responsibilty for there actions. If they dont agree with rules or laws they dont apply to them right. Ignore the rules without consequence. If the police, teachers or anyone tries to enforce rules it is harrasment right. The officer was enforcing the rules. If he didnt like the rules he should have simply left or wore a helmet like it says in the rules. the best thing that can happen is the delinquent be charged to the fullest extent of the law.
You know what I think they should do is just like at a damn swimming pool with no life guard on duty, post a sign skate at your own risk, at a pool it would have a set of rules posted and a sign for just that swim at your own risk... SCPD just like the rest of the POs around here have nothing better to do than harrass the kids instead of finding constructive ways to do their jobs!
these stupid fucking kids ruined my chance of skating the park. i planned on taking a little road trip to check out the park this sunday and now i see this??
What this nice little video doesn't tell you is that while the 2 officers were being assaulted two dozen nice innocent children stood around and watched. I don't think people fully understand how difficult it is to be a police officer in this day and age of instant lawsuits and extreme political correctness. I think the officers showed great restraint in their reaction. Know the facts before making comments.
@SilverCityBiker The kid did not commit a felony, but the cops treated it that way. THAT is an infringement fo the kids Constitutional rights! Oh wait, the kid was a minor so that made the kid a second class citizen. NOT!
strange, when I drove past the protest the kids were running through traffic and hiting the cars. Also the next day I drove past and there was grafitti scratched into the outside wall. Quite peacfull.
Actually they were. There were no incidents at the protest, and think what shit all those angry kids could've done. Instead they held signs, and wrote with sidewalk chalk. Yeah it was only chalk, I know I brought it to them. Check your facts.
Shame on the police department. Our troubling times demand that we see the importance of working together in any way to help us to believe we can stay strong a survice as a community. . Why does one stupid incident predetermine what happens to this skate park. Obviously there was a lot of time and money put into something that was very important for the young people of this community. I support a peaceful rally and hopefully the kids will be skateboarding soon.
Damn dude, it really sucks that they clsoed down the park because of some dumbass, disrespectful assholes. But kudos for peaceful protests. I hope they'll open it soon.

like i said, people get arrested at the mall ALLLL the time, do they shut that down? nope, walmart is still open too.
there was a shooting at dillards, it's still open.
cops are dumb, go watch spike or trutv until you figure out a good reason that it is still shut down.
