Thanks buddy, I have the same trouble on my NB, tried coil packs, leads, plugs, MAF, about to try a fuel filter, I will have to check the grounds, Do you know where I can find all the ground placements?
hi, I am curious if you solved this? I had a similar issue on my 99 AE. I was able to get around the problem by advancing the timing by a few degrees but I didn't figure out the cause. Any further info would be appreciated.
Or rather crank position sensor. To the right of the crank pulley

To come back to this. It was also my crank angle sensor!

I had the same problem on my 92 1.6. It's the crank angle sensor.

In my case it was a bad ground on the passenger side of the valve cover. It was not even finger tight
