I don't understand how people blend like this. is the painting done on separate layers, then are they blended or what is the order..?
And yes, I use Layers. Normally I use a background layer and one for the figure.
While painting I add more layers, especially when drawing something which could destroy the whole picture. Afterwards I connect those layers for saving space!
Sometimes, if something I drew is too bright, I reduce the opacity of the layer I'm painting on.

I think it took me about 15 hours all in all!
I used a Wacom Tablet (Mouse using would be suicide^^)
