The Russians obviously know how to hide engines as they did with Su-47, but clearly that wasn't so important feature as they didn't do it with Pak-Fa. And F-23 was regarded stealthier than F-22.. The engines show from underneath and from behind, but Pak-Fa ain't meant to operate in a area with serious SAM-network, where that could matter. As West lacks in that regard clearly.

Oh and one more thing i forgot to add is that if both sides will have stealth fighter, how are they gonna fight against each other? Its simple. Ground Control Intercept stations will have enough processing power to analyze anti-stealth detection method radar waves to guide the fighters to each other. But their onboard sensors wont be able to detect each other unless they are very close. And then it all comes to dogfight capabilities which i beleive i dont have to say whos the king of the hill...
Personally I am a Russian aircraft fan, but I must say that the F-22 really impressed with its agility, it certainly can't do the aerobatic shit to the extent Flanker and Fulcrum do but it is outstanding with its ability to mentain power after extreme maneauvers such as the cobra.
Yes but when you look at how much USAF money spent on this project its only to be expected compared to the much more less costly flankers that were only slightly modified to be capable of such maneuvers from the time they first appeared in the early 80ties - they still dominate air today. I cant wait to see the T-50 PAK-FA project first prototype. I think that it will be (as Russians are well renowed for) much more cost effective machine than the current F-22, nevertheless far superior.

Stealth is use less in Air-Air... BTW F-22 is designed for long range fights. 99% you can say f 22 cannot match su 35 in a dog fight. The russian aircraft are designed for short range combats or dog fights so they hav amazing maneuverability.

F/A-22 Raptor is a good plane, there is no reason to deny it, but there is no reason to say that it "OWNS EVERY FIGHTER IN THE WORLD". USAF exercises against other USAF planes clearly showed that the Raptor is better than other USAF planes.
But comparing USAF pilot's kill-ration in wars against third world countries where pilots are not so well trained as USAF pilots is just ridiculous. In Iraq most of those planes were destroyed on the runways rather than in air combat.
I'd also like to add that F/A-22 have never been used in real combat, atleast according to my knowledge. So there is no information how well it could do in combat environment.

Good point, but my reasoning is just my belief with the technological advancements that the Raptor is equipped with, it has a clear edge against any fighter in the world, unless there is something out there that nobody knows about, but that is highly unlikely. I actually LOVE MiG's and Su's, they are some awesome jets, but the raptor in my opinion is just in a league of it's own.
If you will have even 1 lil bolt screwed in the raptor with it's head up from the body level even 1mm it loses it's stealth and that it becomes easily seen for even MiG-25 (MiG-31 can see it clearly B-2 or F-117 at over 300km, so theres a real possibility for it to see Raptor). Now, once F-22 gets in a dogfight with SU - it's a toast 85% sure. I'm not being RUSSIAN WEAPOSN THE BEST but I'm looking at things in comparison, not only from the western point of view, and I'd recommend you do the same

Americans were laoughing their asses off than their aerodynamics school was way better than Soviet till 1990 or which year was it that Pugachev owned whole Paris Aerosalon. So in fact it was the other way arround. You can see which country was implementing innovative changes to their aircraft aerodynamics and thus which aerodynamics school was better.

Both nations have very nice and awesome aircraft. Lets just hope we never find out the answers to these types of discussions, as we will not be around (at least not as we are today) to gloat about it. Use LOMAC to play with the SU and f15... no F22 in there but still fun. And I like flying both in LOMAC, which is made by a soviet developer.

J.O.U.S.T. estimates place the Raptor with a 10;1 kill ration vs. the SU-35. So I doubt it would put a "good fight" because chances are the SU will be destroyed before it knows the raptor is present.

Enough with those excuses, those exercises were a challenge for the two sides. Both F-15 and Su-30 were faced with attacking and defending scnearios requiring the 3:1 disavantage on the latter. Both had minimal AWACS support, the F-15C hadn't the AESA APG-63(V)2 radar but neither the IAF fielded the newer and much more advanced Su-30MKI.

You shot yourself in the foot--the R-77 (AA-12) has a longer range than the AIM120AAMRAAMC, the latest version in the AAMRAAM series. The range will be extended further when the R-77 is fitted with ramjets and coupled with the MiG-31--giving Russian forces better long-range characteristics than any American fighter.

Uum..the R-77 is already in service with at least the Russian and Indian air forces. The extended range is not expenisve, as it just consists of ramjets instead of rectangular fins--much like the anti-radiation Kh-31 Krypton anti-radiation missile. The Phoenix missile of the F-14 was a conventional, heavy missile-- the Americans had not developed Ramjets to that extent.

I would beg to differ-- the American armed forces broadly represent a section of society that is economically downtrodden. In other countries, it is not so. The armed forces are usually seen as a prestigous option rather than the final one, unlike the US. The quality of American personnel cannot compete for this reason--not matter what training you give them.

F/A-22 Raptor is a good plane, there is no reason to deny it, but there is no reason to say that it "OWNS EVERY FIGHTER IN THE WORLD". USAF exercises against other USAF planes clearly showed that the Raptor is better than other USAF planes.
But comparing USAF pilot's kill-ration in wars against third world countries where pilots are not so well trained as USAF pilots is just ridiculous. In Iraq most of those planes were destroyed on the runways rather than in air combat.

Good point, but my reasoning is just my belief with the technological advancements that the Raptor is equipped with, it has a clear edge against any fighter in the world, unless there is something out there that nobody knows about, but that is highly unlikely. I actually LOVE MiG's and Su's, they are some awesome jets, but the raptor in my opinion is just in a league of it's own.

If you will have even 1 lil bolt screwed in the raptor with it's head up from the body level even 1mm it loses it's stealth and that it becomes easily seen for even MiG-25 (MiG-31 can see it clearly B-2 or F-117 at over 300km, so theres a real possibility for it to see Raptor). Now, once F-22 gets in a dogfight with SU - it's a toast 85% sure. I'm not being RUSSIAN WEAPOSN THE BEST but I'm looking at things in comparison, not only from the western point of view, and I'd recommend you do the same
