  • Girl groups: 3. Destiny's Child. 2. TLC 1. Supremes.

  • So what? I'm 21 and i like this song, remember good music lasts.

  • Dr.house send me

  • House.

  • glee brought me here......shut the fck up!Im here because i wanna hear this amazing music(dumbass)

  • OOOOOH Mr Jamerson....Sublime

  • Gotta love the times where music was actually good. I'm twenty. :)

  • glee brought me here? bitch please.

  • @jetblackbuttterfly LOL!!! Exactly

  • great song

  • I like the distressing Morse code telegraph sound in the beginning, the numbing ice hot guitar rift in the middle, the group's pleading harmonizing toward the end and Bass line throughout. The song proffers a female and male form of captured hysteria being relieved through musical superb talent.

  • I have never heard a song that described my exact situation to a T!!!

  • Glee brought me here...

  • The ending was awesome. LOL!

  • love this tune, child hood memz xxx

  • little mix brought me here

  • @xxLickulMsMuzicxx i love lil mix xxx they should win xxx

  • Cool..

  • xcelent

  • nice

  • fantastic

crikey builds you up as always

  • Florence always looks like she wishes she was somplace else.

  • the original is always the best

  • nothing usually beats originals but wow, kim wilde really adds emotion to this song

  • I may be an average lame white boy,but in the ery early 1960's the Supremes for me were supreme!

  • @RasMajnouni am a white lass n all i can remember is this music played wen i was lil one n i still love it ;) xxx

  • @gangsta1143 Well Motown had more white fans than black if you consider the whole world. I'm Israeli-Jewish and Motown was big. Its still heard from 2PM-3PM daily on our National Radio Station. (We have 2)..In the 50's 60's and early 70's there were only 2 radio stations in Hebrew.

  • heard this on House M. D. They composed better music 40 years ago

  • Beautiful. There's a 80's version of this song in a different way sung by Mina, very beautiful too. I recomend it!!

  • i think i was 1000th like. anyway this reminds me of the modern family thing where cam wants mitchell to become a member of the supreme court so he tell people his partner is one of the supremes

  • Another Supremes false-cheer (original) versions of a song that has no real cheer in it whatsoever.

  • @MrChirpsky you dont like them why are you here listening to them??

  • Original and the best!

  • Why is every single lyric of this song so entirely relatable? It is so completely accurate in describing the broken heart of a girl who is still trying to get over her ex, who won't entirely let her get over him. Alas, only oldies can get to my heart like this.

  • @jasminethereal because singers in the past used to SING!!!!! about many things and emotions. we've been numbed by sounds insultingly called music in the last 20 years mostly for popularity not purity of sound or harmony of vocals. in other words that was golden age, we're in iron age of music........

  • MOTOWN-THE GREATEST RECORD LABEL IN THE WORLD.....

  • 8 people slipped when they tried to click the like button.

  • copy or original ?

  • Ah, this song is amazing.

  • This song always rocked, especially the clapping "percussion" background. It just keeps driving forward, no letup in energy or feeling. I LOVED this song when it came out, it brings me back to 1967. Killer!!!!!

  • I like this version at the end..so cool. And then to hear Diana laughing with the guys recording...priceless.

    Nice studio take.

  • THUMBS IF STOP ME BY MARK RONSON BROUGHT YOU HERE

  • BOB BABBITT AT 0:17 ! YEEESSSS

  • @LouisHaynes2

    Jamerson

  • In this link (youtube.com/watch?v=YzSp8l2mxhk - Time: 2:45 to 3:36), who's singing that version? Thank you and greetings from Brazil.

  • the best break up song ever.

  • This is screaming "remix me please" what a tune still awesome now in proper hands this could DROP!!!! i know in my head but have no equipment god damn!!!!!

  • Diana is a GEORGOUS WOMAN ,but i like and think MARY WILSON IS JUST AS GOOD LOOKING AND SEXY AS HELL !

  • The photo of Florence @ 2:14 is heart wrenching. I can't stop looking at it.

  • dat hair

  • BEST DAYS EVER, AINT NOTHING TO BEAT IT.

  • Another lyrical monument to anyone who has ever been in the heart wrenching limbo that is depicted in and by this song. Great studio performance from Diana, Mary and Flo, aka The Supremes!

    "....Let me get over you

The way you've gotten over me...."

  • BEST VERSION OF THIS SONG IS ON THE MOTOWN STORY ALBUM, WHEN BOTH FLO AND DIANA ARE ON LEAD VOCALS, FLO IS LOUD AND CLEAR, SET SLIGHTLY BEHIND DIANA SO YOU HEAR BOTH VOICES, AWESOME VERSION AND JUST WHAT H-D-H WANTED.. TO SHOWCASE BOTH VOICES. BERRY GORDY DIDNT LIKE IT AND ORDERED IT TO BE REMIXED, SO YOU ONLY GET TO HEAR DIANA ON THE RELEASED VERSION

  • Lol @ the end, "Haha, you're crazy." Freaked me out but I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • oh for fuck sakes its a great song. everyone talking about Diana and her looks, shes who she is because of her voice :)

  • Adorable.

  • You know your parents have given you a great taste in music when you listen to songs like these and think, "Hey! I heard this song before when I was a kid, it's awesome!". I'm 17 by the way.

  • @TheMusicEclipse Im 18 and this music is the dopest on the planet. I love it.

  • @TheMusicEclipse

I hear you. I'm 38 and my parents used to listen to this when I was young. Goes to show you how timless this is. I was 17 before you were even born! Keep listening and share it whith your generation as well!

  • @TheMusicEclipse Same here! :D

  • For me they were black American Royalty. I loved them, they had talent, STYLE and grace... and they seemed to always sing about love, broken, lost, found celebrated or otherwise. Their sound was amazing.

  • pause 27: diana looks like taraji p henson

  • great song

  • pure fine wine

  • those were the days

  • Flo was gorgeous. <3

  • @bryanab100

its was good but don't push it, it definitely wasn't better. lol

  • @bryanab100 TWATT.full stop!!

  • It would be 21 years later, the song gets a second life thanks to Kim Wilde.

  • No iblacka Dear Flo Screwed Herself & Mary Screwed Everything with a Pulse

  • The other 2 got screwed by Diane. All for herself. Not a nice person.

  • To all you pro wrestling fans out there: This was the #1 song in the USA when John Layfield came into the world (November 26, 1966).

  • hhmmm...

is there a song that like puts "You Can't Hurry Love" "Baby Love" and "Stop In The Name Of Love" in one? my choir did a concert and sang this song that had all three in it, kinda like a mix? o.o any ideas?

  • @FeatheryWonders That's called a medley. Doubt any studio/live recording actually exists of said medley.

  • Damn! Didn't realise Kim Wilde's song was a cover from this.

  • @m4ffe If you keep listening to Motown records you're going to be amazed at how many more covers were made from their songs!

  • @brmnyc It's kind of a let down when you find out that your favourite artist's best song happens to be a cover. I'm not talking about Kim Wilde but in general.

  • house

  • 2Kismet I believe that is Robert White on the guitar. From what I remember from interviews talking about his popular licks. This one and of course the intro on My Girl, with Jamerson's great heartbeat bass line intro.

  • This stereo mix ix was better thin the mono mix.

  • I like this one better, because how do you if the singers are tired of singing?

  • There is a photo in this video with The Supremes an H-D-H at the piano. The amount of talent in that photo can NOT be overstated! The sad part is that despite over 20 #1 hits coming from the group of people, only one of feels as if they were duly compensated. It's the person who's first born daughter was fathered by the owner of the record company. F.I.H(fly in heaven) Florence Ballard. You never knew how much we loved you when you were here, I hope you know now!

  • seriously who is on that guitar!

  • INCREDIBLY talented, incredibly elegant. The Velvelettes, Marvelettes, Ronettes were all good. But the Supremes were in a league all their own.

  • Is that Mary or Flo singing the chorus after Diana Ross says " And there ain't nothing I can do about it"?

  • @PawtucketPatriot66 That's Flo. Mary is doing the "oo oo ooo"s

  • Forgot how masterful this song is as done by them. They were aptly named.

  • "Ha ha You crazy"

    Lol.

  • My God, this is wonderful! The new music I hear on the radio today lacks creativity and purpose, so forgive me if I go back to a time before I was born to listen to the good stuff.

  • @dogsdrivingcars *Clicks the 'love' button, as if it exists*

  • @dogsdrivingcars you dont have to be forgiven, becuase thats what I always do, todays music is a load of garbage, so I listen to stuff like this all the time

  • Why does that faggy Glee have to ruin everything? Great Motown tune.

  • @ChachaChapati They did a pretty good copy. But that's exactly what it is- a copy. This is the real deal.

  • @emmettk

Of course it is; some of the other remakes (Kim Wilde) are ok; I just REALLY hate Glee.

  • @ChachaChapati

vanilla fudge's cover is great too.

  • dianna agron (quinn out of glee) has a better voice and looks than these lot...

  • @samwood4291 please, glee will never have anything on the supremes, or any of the motown acts

and just out of personal taste, i would take any member of the supremes over "quinn from glee" any day of the week

  • @charliie98 agreed

  • Brilliant song

  • ty you for this.... u r awesome

  • owsome!

  • Three girls singin a song "Written by Brian Holland,Lamont Dozier, and Edward Holland Jr." three guys... interesting. :P

  • I love this song....

  • this is one of those classics that make you think.... my parents brought me up on this and many other greats from their generation... glad i can still hear it now... thanks

  • How music can take you back in seconds, i grew up with this music, wouldn't change that for the world.

    Good Days.

  • i love this song and florence ballard

  • FIERCE!!!

  • @Drew1165 Fierce ? ...Wait, fierce ???

Epic yes of course, fierce, NO.

  • "........and there ain't nothing I can do about it"

  • I'D TAKEN FLORENCE BALLARD OVA DIANA ROSS ANYDAY MANE FLO WAS 2 TOUGH JACK BERRY GORDY NEEDED HIS EYES CHECKED....I'D KEPT FLO SHE WAS A KEEPA

  • Their voices defined an entire era of music... That's more than most groups can claim. Long live the legacy of the Supremes!!

  • or Manny, Mo, and Jack? or Curly, Larry and Mo?

  • ONE F MY FAVOURITE SONGS I LIKE IT SO MUCH

  • Motown Artists are some of the best the world has ever seen. I wish music was still this good.

  • The three people who dislike this are deaf, dumb and blind.

  • im sorry but everytime i look at diana ross i think of micheal jackson

  • @normandyangel And that's a bad thing...why?

  • @AnimeFanADDICT i never said it was bad its just wierd..i love micheal jackson.and diana ross

  • And this is why I am so glad my mom raised me on Motown music, instead of 90's music.

  • @AnimeFanADDICT 90s music is good, but what I'm wondering is how we went from this to utter crap like Lady Gaga

  • @z24lm Producers lost the soul of what music truly is?

  • Beautiful song !

  • to bad todays music isn't like this.

  • i wonder who was she dedicating this song too it probably was berry gordy

  • 3:10 haha, you crazy!

  • Funk Brothers enough said.

  • These girls are absolutely beautiful and have more talent in the tip of their pinky nail than any group has today! They make you forget all about Beyonce.

  • WOW They must mess Flo really bad.

  • @SweetAdvice I ment Miss

  • Now this is what I call music!!

  • Classic sound from classic artists. This music will and must live on.

  • That bass line is perfect. The rest of the song is a 'mere' masterpiece.

  • I love you FLO...RIP beautiful one.

  • The photo at 0:14 is too cool. Diana is sooo hot in the one at 0:27. 0:44, yes. 0:50 is fun.

  • This song and "Love Is Like An Itching In My Heart" are my two favorite Supremes songs........

  • Wow, I love this version. Thanks for making it available on youtube for us all to enjoy.

  • Diana does have these most devastating eyes, she is a Divine looking creature. Not going to go un noticed in this life.

  • kick ass song. the group would have had even more success if holland-dozier-holland had stayed at motown. bad business move by berry gordy. he did not like paying people what they were worth. could not blame h-d-h for leaving.

  • WATCH OUT!!!! Here come the Supremesssss!!!!!!

  • Best version of this song right here!

(I'm glad Glee did this version <3 )

  • gostei!

  • I will add to my previous comment the Supreme' s were the Black Queens of Fashion

  • I especially loved Diana Ross the Black Queen of Fashion

  • One of the all time great singing groups. Such a tragic story.

  • These girls rocked. Too bad Barry Gordy ripped them off.

Yes, I love Florence Ballard too. I play bass and backed up the Shirelles in the early 80's. I have that Motown, phat back sound, and can make you dance to my heavy/phat grooves.

    I love it all.

    Regards

    Mr. Lee/Eugene

  • that's funny how you can sing a song about real life. and the way you feel.

  • Sounds excellent.

  • you hate this your just sad

  • The sound on this is bl**dy good. Right in your face.

    FABULOUS!

  • CLASSIC SOUNDS FROM KHMT-FM

  • Which version is this track? Or what album does this one come from?? I have never heard that ending before!

  • Which version is this track? Or what album does this one come from?? I have never heard that ending before!

  • @qthegaijin i got it from the supremes' #1's cd. don't know what album it was on, though. sorry..

  • @qthegaijin It's on The Supremes Number Ones CD. It's got a pink-tinted cover with a picture of Diane, Mary and Flo. I found it on Napster. I looked up Supremes and it lists the albums next to the songs. Alot of the songs have the cold endings. Stop In The Name Of Love, Reflections, and You Keep Me Hangin On are just a few. It's kind of refreshing to hear them differently than the released versions. Reflections has some background parts that were omitted from the released version.

  • thats defo a weird ending
