  • I make the Transmissions for Kia and Hyundai. When this happens it means your transmission is stuck in "limp home mode" which is it will only ride in 4th gear. Meaning there is an internal problem with your transmission, that the dealerships usually cant fix. If your transmission is under warranty they usually replace it and send it back to kia, where my job is to find what was wrong.

  • @Eric77744777 I have a 2012 Kia Sorento a push button start, when I start it up it does a bang sound, it doesn't happen all the time, but...is frustrating and I'm a nervous wreck every time I go to start it, the dealer said I would have to bring it out and they will keep it overnight and keep tryin it through out the day, I told them what if it doesn't happen in an over night period..as it does not happen every time I start it...the dealer said they have to hear it to detect. Your opinion

  • First gen (truck based) Sorentos are better. 03-09 models are very solid. I've seen a few with 160,000+ miles and only problem was a plastic elbow in the cooling system. $3.00 fix. Overall first gen is a very solid & reliable suv. My 06 is @ 91,000 miles and runs great!!! even after I wrecked it, New airbag & body repair and still runs great.

  • my 2011 kia sportage just got stuck in fourth gear the rpms were 4000 and would not gear up, after turning the vehicle off and back on it hasnt done it but I will be making a compliant

  • My Kia Sorento 2005 has stuck in 4x4Lo mode itself and does not change to any other mode. I have tried to change the mode while stopped with engine running and also totally off mode.

I have already tried to reverse run it as some body suggested to do so but did not help.

If any body has a clue.............. Please help.

  • Hey lgOrEcK24......you complain about grammar? Why don't you try punctuation? I'd hate to see what your posts look like without spell check. Do yourself a favor and never log back onto Youtube again.

  • what 4000-5000 thousand rpm that a lot

  • well, that's the problem with koreans right, sell it next time, then buy german or japs, otherwise u'll keep wasting your time

  • DUDE never ever buy kia or hyundai, get a toyota or honda some japan car they are very good cars and will never let u down. Kia is a piece of shit so as hyundai.

  • @IgOrEcK24 first of all you need to use proper grammar, second of all you need to shut up fuck up, and third of all do u even know how to make a car?

  • @1993jino ya i do know how to make a car and i work as a car mechanic so i know what cars are good and what cars are bad.

  • @IgOrEcK24 well ok i will get rid of the third one but still learn to how to use proper grammar and dont say shit like that ... i am just saying that if your japanese you can go fuck your self

  • @1993jino Well 1st of all I'm not Japanese and 2nd of all watch your language.

  • I was going to buy a Kia. But with all I've read and seen online, NO FREAKIN' WAY!!!

  • Rpm....

  • I just had a problem with my transmission. It cut off while my husband was driving the car on a highway in dangerous weather during a snow storm.

  • you need to turn off the eco mode.

the green light the meter ECO.

    check manual book.

  • Mine has similar noise problem in the front right tire, I suspect its the strut. I brought it to the dealer but to no avail they say they could not duplicate my complaint. They say they road tested it for a 2 to 3 miles according to the in & out milage. But when I took a look at the odometer its 2 miles lesser than the milage in my paper work. Means to say that not only the vehicle has problem , the service staff is a liar. I'm not through with them yet!

  • Do you still have the sorento? Did kia fix the problem? I'm very interested in buying one but from what I've read some people are having strut and transmission issues.

  • Yes I do, they changed transmission.

  • are you in sort mode? if so i would bet thats normal

  • Does yours make a sound on the front right when on bumpy roads?

  • They will change your transmission with your complaint to Kia motors consumer service.

  • mine is doing the same thing transmission gets stuck in 3rd or 4th and wont shift up or down mine is 2 weeks old today.....do you know if there is a fix for it?

  • Take it back to dealer. Sounds like first year model issues although I haven't heard of anyone else with this problem.

  • The KIA's warranty doesn't support transmission problems.

  • @DtorBill they do dont talkshit

  • @DtorBill yes it does

  • They'll fix it no problem, still on warranty!

  • It is a problem. Have you taken it to your Kia dealership to resolve the problem? I've seen a new Sorento and it had a wonderful interior and an excellent power train. I have a 2009 Optima and I really do love it.

  • In my opinion: Try to sell the car before losing second hand price and wait for the new Toyota RAV4 or Honda CRV; although another good choice could be the Subaru Forester.

  • @DtorBill another Kia hater and a Japanese lover boy
