Big Boi plans to release his first and then Andre's, and if they are well recieved then they are giving us another Outkast album. My collection needs an Andre solo record, I am really dying waiting for Andre to release a solo.

that's a good point about how it all started with the party. hip-hop comes from sound system parties in jamaica where DJs would say they're own little rhymes over the records. a jamaican-born kid in NYC called Kool Herc brought that concept to house parties he'd host at his moms in the bronx. and hip-hop was born. it was really was that simple, i mean there's alot of factors that played into how it ended up looking and sounding, but it's birth was that simple and humble.
I have respect for all forms of hip-hop, but how much variety is there in mainstream hip-hop nowadays? Almost none. 20 years ago, you had everything from gansta rap Ice Cube and groups like ATCQ getting love & respect from EVERYONE. Yeah, you have Mos, Common, Talib, etc., but you can't tell me they get the same love from the media like Lil Wayne does. And by the way, Lil Wayne isn't a bad rapper, but he is far from the GRA. Andre is currently working on a solo album according to Big Boi.
Big Boi plans to release his first and then Andre's, and if they are well recieved then they are giving us another Outkast album. My collection needs an Andre solo record, I am really dying waiting for Andre to release a solo.

Yeah, OutKast did go mainstream w/Speakerboxx & The Love Below. But to be honest, OutKast never stuck with the same formula with any of their albums. They are always trying to come up w/something different. BTW, all of OutKast's albums have went platinum, it's just SB/LB that went Diamond.........

that's a good point about how it all started with the party. hip-hop comes from sound system parties in jamaica where DJs would say they're own little rhymes over the records. a jamaican-born kid in NYC called Kool Herc brought that concept to house parties he'd host at his moms in the bronx. and hip-hop was born. it was really was that simple, i mean there's alot of factors that played into how it ended up looking and sounding, but it's birth was that simple and humble.

I have respect for all forms of hip-hop, but how much variety is there in mainstream hip-hop nowadays? Almost none. 20 years ago, you had everything from gansta rap Ice Cube and groups like ATCQ getting love & respect from EVERYONE. Yeah, you have Mos, Common, Talib, etc., but you can't tell me they get the same love from the media like Lil Wayne does. And by the way, Lil Wayne isn't a bad rapper, but he is far from the GRA. He's not even in the top 5.......

I have much love for Andre 3000, OutKast, Goodie Mob, etc. I grew up on them. But mainstream hip-hop IS DEAD. I understand where Andre 3000's coming from, but lot of folks will be looking at you like, 'Take that bullshit outta CD player' if you played something that wasn't Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, etc. nowadays. Even Gangsta rap back then, they were articulate with it, Not nowadays. Listen to Illmatic or Ready to Die and listen to Gucci or OJ the Juiceman and listen to the diffrences...

If you don't think that Andre is better than Em, then listen to some of his verses. I like his older stuff, personally. Southernplayalisticcadillacmusik, Aquemini, ATLiens... Just listen to his lyrics. He talks about real stuff, not taking 'ludes, drinking vodka, and killing his ex-wife.
