My 99 Cav has 144k on it, and yes, it is all about the routine maintenance. I use Restore in my engine every other oil change, change the oil every 4k miles, use fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank, keep it clean, and that puppy runs like a dream.
You guys are all going crazy over a vehicle running for 100k+ miles, how about my Pawpaw's Chevy truck running with 400k+ miles and was still going strong until the transmission went out a couple of months ago.
Don't know why people knock these Cavaliers. They're not fancy or as refined as I'd like but they're dependable and are cheap and easy to fix when shit does go wrong. One of the smarter decisions financially.
My 2002 Cavalier has 78,000 miles on it. I am the second owner, my wife bought it new before we started dating. I am driving it until it doesn't move...and I think that will be a while from now.
No, the daytime running lights don't turn on by themselves in the Manual version of the cavalier (I have a 98 Z24, and that light just flashes to let you know to turn on your lights), the transmission doesn't "know" what gear its in, unlike an automatic.
@joshgrami eee i had an 98 Z22 (the canadian RS model) manual transmission and my DRL was always open when my hand brake was down and in this video the car looks automatik
hey im my-l and im a junoir @ Paulsboro Gigh in NJ, and i have a Green Chevy Cavalier Z24 had it since '06 but it good i love it but it's not custumized but i think im bout 2 get a New never used 2007 Ford Fusion SEL in Silver Birch like in 6 months
AAHHAA yeah i have a 1999 chevy cavalier.... with the 2.2.... piece of junk if i do say so... imean the car runs preety good and all. But its NOTHING compared to an acura integra gsr 1.7l that has almost 100 more hp....and the body type is almost the same wieght if not less.... iono iono looking forward to my new civic or integra by the end of the summer :).. and theres no good racing videos with this car...=SLOW :(
read what you said, the integra has almost 100 hp more and youre saying its a piece! that makes NO sense but what ever dude, go live in your own little, narrow minded world
i bought a cavvalier in 2000 so it had a 3 year warrenty and 5 years later it was ackting bad so one day i was on the interstate and it jus cut off so i was like stuck and then it cut off again and it had 100,000 miles on it ugg i had to sell it
lol my dad bought a cavalier back in 96 and a year later the fuckin timing chain broke...had the whole motor replaced. im sorry but they are pieces of shit, we've had rod knocks and all sorts of other shit happen to that car but now he has altima
