  • French is such a hard language! I'm from Ottawa, Canada and I've been trying to learn French all my life and it's amazingly difficult to get the expressions and tenses and how to word the masculine/feminine... English is easy to pick up, hard to master, French is hard (or difficult) to pickup and *extremely difficult to master.

  • Hi. I speak English and Spanish fluently. I am 19 and I am a college junior studying clinical psychology. I want to learn French, so how long do you think it would take me to learn French?

  • O.o i thought you was 'vous' in francais...

    sorry, im a beginner

    I love english... -3

  • Bonjour!

    Tu es Français ou Canadien?

Could you also say "comment allez-vous?" or does that mean something else?

    I'm taking French 1 in school. So I know a few words/phrases.

  • @nokturnalmortom666 Comment allez-vous ? is a more polite/formal way of saying it or is use for asking to more than one person.

  • I'm currently living in Montreal, and honestly, the french in Quebec is much more forgiving. You are doing a good job, forget all the hate-mail/grammar police.

  • Thanks remy, your leçons are the best by far here on youtube. greetings from argentina, espero que sigas haciendo videos!

  • Salut !

  • @pistachemusic

Oui Mathieu je suis bien français d'origine :-)

  • @jremy7 Can't quite do the language yet so well without plugging my nose, at end of ameriCAN. oh well, room for improvement. sounds perfect, though, If i do, say so...myself.

  • @jremy7 but you're pretty good at english too.. so what's the deal? :)

  • i was taught comment ca va in school as how are you, its basically the same thing, are you quebec or france french?

  • Sheao sais une prononciation :)

  • Bonjour!

A bientot!

  • Should the last 'S' sound in 'Suis' also be pronounced if it's a name starting with a vowel ? No specific rule for this, like in American's "an Hour" ?

  • @Ultimate600

    You are correct :-)

    Tu as raison.

  • maybe its me that bit on a edge today but i think you need to get to the point quickly. cuz u spent like 3 mins on something that you can just say in less than 2 mins. your voice is dull and quiet so with the combination of the phone part is a bit odd and its just end up wasting time. speak a little louder and tiny bit faster would be good

  • @MyTubePlay Franck ;)

I like this course of French!

  • Je suis ukrainiene. I like this course of French!

  • im mixed.. puerto rican and black...how would i say " I am Puerto Rican and Black" ?

  • @chickayah27 you would say " je suis puerto ricain et noir

  • @MsDewel ur french and black? u mean african or something?

  • @chickayah27

Well some Puerto Ricans are Black lol so the sentence wouldn't make any sense, Now, if one of your parents is AA, Haitian, Jamaican etc and the other, Puerto-Rican, ok, that would make sense, because Black is not a nationality.

So you could say "je suis à moitié portoricain à moitié afro-américain" that would make sense lol

  • @PrinceNoirAmericain It does but you and I we both know "half puertorican" often implies that someone must be at least part non-black even though that's not the case most times. Most afropuertoricans will tell you ppl assume black and puertorican are mutually exclusive. The French canadian singer Gage has Haitian and Jamaican heritage.he once labelled it "mixed", quite a few ppl were up in arms lol!

  • @cannoir

I just saw your message. The White/Spanish Puerto Ricans outnumber Afro Puerto Ricans that's a fact. And it is usually assumed that when someone says they're Puerto-Rican, it means "White", whereas this is not always the case.

Also, Afro/black Puerto Ricans do not always define themselves as such, in fact, it's even rare, because the term "Black" carries a negative connotation is the eyes of many latinos and understandably so. As for the prefix "Afro", it is simply a label

  • @cannoir

given to people of African ancestry. It is sociologists and ethnologists who, in many cases, began putting the prefix "afro' before the nationalities of individuals of African ancestry, such as "Afro-Bolivian". I used to live in NY, Puerto-Ricans who are visibly Black do not always define themselves as afropuertorican lol.

  • @cannoir

That's just my personal opinion, I would say "i'm half Puerto Rican half AA, at least this way, no one is being reduced to a color :-)

  • bonjour remy, je suis pablo, how do u say ¨i´m from Ecuador¨ or something similar, please,
