    Kundenrezensionen:

  • waht mode should i use for youtube vids

  • Looks cool, performs like crap.

  • @shadowblack1987 I think it performs better than crap. But I agree with your basic assessment. I wish the image quality and video quality were a lot better.

  • 4 feet that aint so good wat if i dropped it n i was higher up in the air like geez n also wat happens if sands gets in it isnt ilike a normal came

  • @alexaandfriends1 Waterproof also means dust and sandproof. As for dropping it - dropping a camera isn't a good idea, anyway. But having some shockproofing means you have a bit of protection if it slips out of your hand. I have tested this feature with shockproof cameras and I've yet to damage one from dropping. I can't say the same for non-rugged cameras. Usually a real drop means they're done.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW see im clumsy n ive dropped my other cams before or my friends have they dont brake but 1 of them the top like started to pop open but idk i just wanna buy this camera realllly really bad n i wana no if its worth buying it

  • @alexaandfriends1

The Pentax is worth buying. It will definitely handle drops better than a normal camera. That said, my favorite waterproof shockproof camera in the past year has been the Sony TX5. Check my video and review for that camera and also check PhotographyREVIEW for my comprehensive waterproof camera guide - then make up your mind about what camera to buy. And don't be so clumsy! :-)

  • @PhotographyREVIEW aha alright thanks soo muchh :))

  • @alexaandfriends1

if youre buying a new camera I would'nt go for the Sony TX5 as he said.

I would wait another month for the Pentax Optio Wg-1 you'll be amazed by it !

It seems the best camera ever for me !!

check reviews of youtube of it , it's hard to find al chinese lol

    /watch?v=V-tSTlGJRw0&playnext=1&list=PL9BBD4BCAD26929EC

i'll just give the link :)

you'll be glad you waited for this one man

  • @IBenjaminHDI wait this camera isnt evennout yet?? i need it by april cuz im going on vaction

  • @alexaandfriends1

then your just lucky it comes out just before april or the first week of april i think.

  • @IBenjaminHDI but if i order it online itll be like in the middle of april n thats when im leaving idk ill just wait n see

  • @alexaandfriends1

    ok , good luck

  • @PhotographyREVIEW I was just referring to one part where you accidentally said 8 gigabit instead of gigabyte, made me laugh, good video though, I've been thinking of getting this camera cuz it looks cool.

  • @RabbidGastroPictures Must have just mispronounced it. I like all the waterproof point-and-shoot cameras. But my favorite right now - and ever - is the Sony TX5. Check for my video of that camera and also look for the full review on PhotographyREVIEW :-)

  • when u weere showing us the cam upclose how did u make the bakground blury n just u n the cam not like so kool lool n is this a good cam to get or wat cuz iwant this 1 cuz my dad got Olympus i think or somethin n its blue n i dont like how it works i dont like how it takes pics or how the videos come out

  • 8 gigabit :D

  • WTF??? this gets a charger AND a AV cable????? but not with a K-X???

  • My Pentax W90 stopped working after 3 months. is a lie that is waterproof.

I opened and is full of water inside.

service call to ask about the warranty and was told that mo can do anything with a camera with water inside and have no international warranty.

    buy the Olympus.

I have pictures of how water came out inside the camera.

  • @domepira Sorry about your W90. However, any waterproof camera can leak just as a lens can break or an LCD can fail. It's a risk you take with all waterproof cameras. Check the user reviews on PhotographyREVIEW and you'll find that they all have some percentage of failure. If you want a safer alternative buy a non-waterproof digital camera and a waterproof housing.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW wait so is this a bad camera to get cuz i want 1 ?? wat if my cam leaks or brakes or w.e n if it does brake or fail would my camera be brocken??

  • can you use the led lights for lighting up dark areas your photographing

plz get back to me thanks :)

  • @slipknot1566 The LED lights are for closeup photography and yes, you can use them to brighten up your photos.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW hey thanks but i have one more question

i recently bought the canon powershot SX120 IS and i got it for $159.99 but i was thinking about returning it and getting the pentax optio w90

what do you think i should i do?

and i have a black smudge on my canon screen and i cleaned the screen and lens so does that mean someone dropped it :) thanks :)

  • Yeah, it just made my pentax optio w80 cry.... the added features are really nice, I will take a look at your other videos to see if they managed to fix that battery thing, since I live in a very cold climate and like to attempt time lapse, in the dead of winter the batteries went so dead, it was horrible and after the fact, the reviews said it was the major problem with this model. I am hoping that it gets better, my little boy has been eying my camera since I got it...

  • @AlterEgoTrip The battery problem hasn't been fixed. It's a battery technology problem and not a camera problem. It's the same reason cars have a hard time starting when it's very cold.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW I even gave my son that explanation, because this little 9 year old is trying to ask if they can fix the battery or get a "better one".. but yes I understand that, I was just hoping for a little improvement. Needless to say I really do enjoy using my Pentax Opito w80, and I really enjoy those little touches with the little lamps.. the only thing that bothers me about the camera itself is that I can not make a direct choice of shutter speed vs f stop like with a cheap sony.

  • ..on the other hand, I can't exactly jump into the water with a cheap sony and expect anything good!

There needs to be MORE with waterproof stuff.. and the technology should spread to mobile telephones.. hopefully environmentally sound as well.. ah but I do dream :D

  • @AlterEgoTrip - as with many cameras, the solution to cold-battery failure (a problem with the battery, not the camera) may be to pack it next to one or more disposable handwarmers. I've stuffed my faithful old W-10 in a foam can holder with an opening cut out and a handwarmer and it works reasonably well with a bit of tinkering. In really extreme conditions you may be stuck with building an external battery supply using lithium cells.

  • you should stand further back during your next unboxing and maybe turn the lights down so we can see absolutely nothing.

  • I have been using a Flip Ultra for video. I am a pilot and when filming out the front of the plane, this camera makes the prop look like a bunch of hypnotic horizontal lines instead of a spinning prop. I am sure this is a function of the video sensor technology. So will I have the same video with the W90 or will it make the prop look like a spinning prop?

  • is the camera you use a sony vx1000

  • @HINDER016 No. I can't remember for sure, which camera I filmed this video with. I think it was probably the Olympus E-PL1 Pen camera. It's currently my favorite camera for video. There's a full review for it on PhotoREVIEW, if you want to know more about it :-)

  • @PhotographyREVIEW Damn i saw this camera and for that little thing it has good ass quality nice pick man you got a Sony vx ?

  • i need help, which one should i get the pentax w90 or canon d10 or olympus 8010 or panasonic lumix ts2?

  • i need help, which one should i get the pentax w90 or canon d10 or olympus 8010 or panasonic lumix ts2?

  • can you use the zoom function while filming with HD video quality?

  • @vvillaver Yes. The zoom works while you're recording video.

  • Thanks for the review. I'm sending my W90 back as the image quality was sadly terrible! Noisy JPEGs and shiny lines from reflected surfaces. The shutter response was slow and you could not zoom whilst filming... It was supposed to replace a 4 year old Canon Ixus 55, but the images were of a worse quality!..

  • @MrRobinini Sorry the camera didn't work out for you. Please write a review for your W90 on PhotographyREVIEW. My experience with waterproof cameras is that there's always an image quality compromise. If you really need the waterproof / shockproof build, it's worth it. But if you don't, they are probably not the best choice.

  • should i get the w90 or the olympus 8010

  • @matrixman339 Based on my experience so far, it's a tossup as far as image quality goes.

  • what settings should I use for imaging of paragliding l.p

  • would be used for paragliding I wonder how the vibration erik slovenia

  • When are you going to do a test video about PentaxW90 you dont find them much especially on the water. Does it zoom when you record video and what is the difference from the PentaxW80.

Can you do a video clip review on both cameras. I cant find any.

  • I'm watching all your video's as I need to buy a waterproof camera which i can take on a round the world yacht trip - which would you recommend the most. I like the look of this and the strap - Taking video's is important as well as the photo's which will be mainly action shots but i also like the olympus

  • @bunnydrumming I like both the new Olympus and this new Pentax. The image quality of both is a little disappointing. But if you have good light, the image quality is fine. Video seems ok with both, although I haven't played with it enough to really be able to pass judgement. Make sure to also check the Panasonic TS1 and TS2. I haven't had either one in my hands. But I think they may have better still image quality.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW thanks for the response - i have been looking at the panasonic as well and really like it - especially the fact you can zoom on the video - will have to go to the shops and have a play! Thanks once again

  • HI Dude. Im really thinking to buy one of those. thanks 4 reviewig. can with that camera set up a interval picture mode? so the camera take a shot every xx secontd or xx min?

  • Dude your beard is epic!

  • @matrixman339 Ha! I actually just trimmed it. It's not as important once ski season is over.

  • Thanks for reviewing this product...mine's in the mail and I can't wait!

  • @fomerrxstudent Happy to help. I hope you like it. Please visit the site and write a review after you've used it for a bit :-)

  • Comment removed

  • @IMMUNEHUMAN Thanks for your commment. But it's actually a USB to AV cable. I just double-checked to make sure. The camera has an HDMI connecrot, but it doesn't come with an HDMI cable.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW Thanks! : )

  • Canon powershot d10 or Pentax optio w90 ?

What do u advice john since u had the chance to try then both out.

  • @Dimelo23 For image quality, the Canon is the best choice. If you want HD video and a camera that fits in your pocket, then the Pentax is better.

  • I'm scared to say I could be this guys twin brother..... weird.

    thx for the review.

  • Great review and camera looks nice, but there is one thing I would like to know: Is it zoomable when in video recording mode?

  • @540ess Yes, you can zoom while shooting video. I tried it and it works. You can't do it without getting pretty shaky results though. I don't know if the remote can control the zoom, but if it does, that would be a better way to zoom for video.

  • great review dude.

  • That camera actually looks pretty good closer up. Water proof cameras have come a way it seems.

  • @fvgotch Yes, it is kinda handsome, isn't it? It feels good, too. It has sort of a rubberized plastic body. I thought it was gonna be too big and plasticky. But I am finding I like the size and feel. It's no problem to carry it in a pants pocket.
