  • In my mind Cram peaked at the Commonwealths and it was probably his best champs in his career. However, it was clear in Stuttgart that he was kind of flat and had lost the incredible zip he had in Edinburgh but, of course, he was still good.

  • @martynhanson He got injured pre-Stuttgard. Or Coe would have been in serious trouble in trying to win his first 'major' 800m. I agree that he was never better than at the 1986 Commonwealth. His 800m was effortless. I wonder what he would have ran had he 'gone for it' that day?

  • @jon62punk True. I love all this bull about needing to be an african....and yet Cram/Coe/Ovetts times from the 80s are still medal class at every championship.
