  • Thank you for putting this up a great insight into the plasticity of our brains :-)

    Bye bye

    The English Sisters

  • You poor child, perhaps you should wait until you are a lot older and wiser to post opinions on this type of subject. How sad to be so ignorant.

  • I hated this poo im 13 please this is for 59 year olds that have poo in the brain poo heads and poo brains mangaheee mangoya i hate Dr's i hate all this bs this is worst documentary alive in human history.

  • Is the actual PBS documentary available here? Does anyone know?..The only clips I've found (with various neuroplasticians from the film pictured) are not offered for this country (U.S.). I am trying to help others with this info as it has helped me so much. Thank you again for such a brillian film.

  • until I saw this diocumentary, I could not grasp Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. All of my research makes so much more sense now, thank you!..And thank you to all of the doctors involved for your dedication.

  • I first heard about this concept from Dr. Caroline Leaf, but it's good to find confirmation.

  • Norman, Excellent presentation, great book, loved it and find it useful for everyday practice, and recommend it often. Well done!

  • This is not only EXCELLENT & SUPERBLY explained, but it represents the REAL POSSIBILITY for us people to actually CHANGE our THINKING, and, therefore, CHANGE our LIVES for the BEST... Beyond limitations, excuses & even AGE! Thank you, Dr. NORMAN DOIDGE & ALLAN GREGG, for this SUPER VALUABLE information+INSPIRATION to all!

  • @monicasancio the implications are huge. Everyone should know this. With just a bit of hard work, we can abandon our sense of hopelessness for the species and better our world!

  • Fantastic video. To grow new neural networks and make the brain focus on a specific result use hypnosis regularly. It is amazing what can be done to end addiction, repair stroke, stop phantom pain, etc. Hypnotherapists are doing this all over the world with fast results. Hypnosis is the fastest and most direct method to make the changes that Dr. Doidge is talking about.

  • Thank you! Great information and wonderful to know!

  • The man mentioned at about 15:00 (Ramachandran) also has written fabulous books about phantom limbs and other thing, some of which relating to brain plasticity. Phantoms In The Brain is a fantastic book, and now having watched this, it will be only a matter of time before I get the book being spoken about in this video.

Thanks AllanGregg for putting this up.

  • @spursdude92 Absolutely. If you haven't already seen it, you should check out Ramachandran's talk on ted.com. It is the bomb!

  • I had (more or less) already this view for about the last 35 years.

P.S. By education (and a short time of research at the University of Leiden) I am a neuro biochemist.

  • I love this. We can train our brain any way we want. I won this book and just started reading it and am very excited about it. Thank you
