I'm supposed to be getting this pen tomorrow for my b-day. Seeing this tutorial has made me even more excited before classes start. This will be incredibly useful for parasitology and microbiology!
Thank you Tim!!! Im going to check that out... Any more tips like that one I certainly appreciate. I have anatomy and physiology class coming up and I think I have the best tool for the job, I just want to be able to use it to the fullest capabilities .
@GGRILEY You're so welcome - I would also like to encourage you to get some Sound Stickers and then you can easily add these to all sorts of things - objects, flashcards, etc to study with.
I have to say I love this tutorial... This has sold me to purchase the echo pen. For clarification. What you did was ripped out the dot paper out of the spiral notebook and put it through the copier to put the skeleton on it and then put your own personal note on it. Am I correct on this? Can you make more tutorials like how to upload from the pen to the computer and send the notes to facebook, email and outlook?
@GGRILEY Thank you!! You are correct (that I carefully tore a page from a large, 8 1/2" x 11", Livescribe notebook, printed the image of the skeleton (from my computer printer) and then added marks with audio linked to them. It's also now possible to create a special pdf that has the image and the ink/audio on it: Just Google "Livescribe Applications LiveBinder" and look on the tab named "Special pencasts". Email me if you have questions. - Tim
Heyy i was wondering if it is easy to print on the dot paper because most of my class notes come partially completed but i have to print it of a computer and we don't really use blank lines paper
@NikoBellic786 Yes - It's easy to print on large (8 1/2" x 11") Livescribe dot paper. You can either tear out pages (carefully) from a large notebook or take an entire notebook (or notebooks) to a printer and ask them to cut off the binding right along the perforations. They may charge a dollar or two for this but it's a time saver if you need 100 - 200 pages or more done at a time. -- Tim
Do we have to use special paper/notebook it comes with or can it be any paper or book? Wouldn't be interested in buying it if I had to buy special expensive notebook every time I run out of space ...
@UnknownMeAsif Yes - You have to use large (8 1/2" x 11") notebook paper from a Livescribe notebook. It costs a whopping (pardon my sarcasm) about 3 cents per side (2 sides per sheet) if you buy your own as 150 page (300 side), 3-subject notebooks cost about $8 or 4 100 page (200 side) single subject notebooks cost about $20. You can, with the right color laser printer (Postscript compatible, etc), print your own paper but that's not very cost effective..
@writerofromance So glad you liked this demo. When you upload your ink and audio the Livescribe Desktop software doesn't upload the underlying image since it doesn't know what it was.
@texscot50 Just carefully take a sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" paper out of a large Livescribe notebook and run it through your computer printer or copying machine.
I don't think this would work, since I would need to have the audio track on my pen for me to listen to it. As for as I know you can't upload audio tracks to a pen, only download them.
I love my pen, though, and I think this would be awesome if it actually worked.
@magicmime you create the audio track. While your penning in the black dot your saying whatever you need to know about that item. Then you just touch that black dot you created in the future and it will play back what you said i.e. the name of the bone OR the part of the bone OR what that part of the bone connects to...whatever you want to say about that part of whatever your studying...you can even have ANOTHER shape for in depth 30 sec detail about it...brilliant and limitless potential

Thanks so much for this demo! It helped me so much to know that I could copy pw pts to the paper and have it for class.
I do have one question.
I copied my pw pt to the paper, but when I uploaded it to livescribe the pw pt didn't upload with it. Is this normal? Or did I do it wrong.
Please, if you could help me figure this out as fast as possible so I can adjust my notes for college that would be much MUCH appreciated.
Again, thanks so much for uploading this video. ^_^

This is a really BAD tutorial. Too much talking. Not enough demonstration. And the audio ....blech.
