....don't let it confuse you. Each octave is just higher than the next (double the HZ if you understand) in sheet music every note in every octave has a specific way of being written so don't worry about which one to play, the music will tell you once you understand how to read it. Hope this helps to explain the video a bit more.
Starting from C the keys go alphabetically..... CDEFG, once it gets to G, it starts again at A ( the key to the right of the 2nd black key in the set of 3 black keys, OR 2 white keys after F) To make it easier just locate C or F by looking at the pattern of black keys, then go alphabetically toward your desired key remembering that after G is A. An octave goes from one letter name to the same latter name 12 keys later. C to C or A to A, etc. There are many octaves on a keyboard/piano so....
Seems like people are confused so ill try to explain what he is showing you............
an OCTAVE consist of 12 keys 5 black and 7 white. If you notice on the keyboard there is a pattern of repeating black keys(2 black then 3 black) - understanding that pattern will allow you to find the key you are looking for. The key to the left of (right before) the set of 2 white keys is C, the key to the left of (right before) the set of 3 black keys is F. ...................
@The1984Freak Hi, If you watch my video on "Joy to the world" there are two Cs - One High and one Low. The notation is also on screen so you can see which note on paper relates to which key on the keyboard.
Hi. im learning or trying to teach myself keybord.. im stuck on understanding were the notes are and i don't understand middle c or sharp or flat notes.. im pritty rubbish... Can you help?
In every octave, the root note is C. Take for example C4, the first white note on the very left. And you continue on, the white notes, it's C,D,E,F,G,A,B.
Another octave which is C5, will be the same C,D,E,F,G,A,B... the only difference is the pitch,, higher or lower.

Now what confuses me is if you're supposed to play C on the keyboard, which C do you start on? There's a lot of C's on the keyboard.

I think this video will confuse a person who is still new.
I'll explain to you.
Piano has many octaves. Ok, when you look at the piano in this video, you can see C4, C5, C6. I know it's kinda blurry.
But those are the different octaves. And you see, each octave has 5 black notes & 7 white notes.

Ok, C sharp or C# or middle C means ....
once you identify the C note (white) and then the next black note, is the C sharp. You just go half step.
C, half step further is C#, half step further is D, half step further is D#... thats what i mean.
