But scientists in the Lambda complex, had already found where the aliens were, and were taking samples and experimenting on them before the R cascade, but no one else knew about that.

Okay, so the reason this wasnt in HL2 is cause they didnt make it. the creatures are all from a place called Xen, an interdimensonial "train station" that life has been willingly and unwillingly brought to. the "wildlife" there is a mishmosh of all kinds of creaturse from all kinds of dimensions, mostly meat consuming carnivores somehow... but yeah, very gruesome efficent killers, like the bullsquid!

@dev02ify I'm pretty sure it works in the same way as the HL2 models work. That is, first they make a model, then they build the texture for it, which I think can easily be modified at any time. Who knows? Maybe it's temporary. After all, the game's been in development for at least two years now...
