Oh ok could you send me the web adress because I can't seem to find it. By the way your Russian Spitfire is the best spit I have ever seen!!!! It's just amazing!!! :)
Did you say that u for lots of your models from SBX models Ipswich. And thanks for subscribing Tommy channel it's really appreciated and I will subscribe to yours when I can. Our computer is being silly so I am doing this of my iPod. Thanks
@Stanier8F I have bought quite a few models from SBX, yes.. but he no longer has the shop, he just does online and post order deliveries now.. It's a good little 'shop' though, even if I haven't used it much lately. mainly due to generally cutting down on my model shopping anyway..
@lewisnorthants Not anytime soon, I'm afraid.. I haven't got a kit and have to be careful with my money right now so can't buy one either! But I have an Academy and a Revell kit to build, both in 1/72.. :)
@legomaster335 That happens to us all... which is why I use either PVA glue, Humbrol Clearfix or Johnsons Klear Floorpolish to fix my canopies now... They don't mist up the clear parts at all.. :)
@legomaster335 What, ready made?? Trust me, you wouldn't want any of them... :) :) And no, I don't sell them.. I wish I could model to a professional standardand earn some money from it but no such luck for me, I'm afraid.. :)
@legomaster335 No harm in asking.. :) I've seen your comment on my channel.. if you have any requests for inbox reviews, tips, how to's and FAQ's, or even a build, then please leave a comment on my 'Request' video, which I posted the other day.. That way I will have them all together and know where to go for ideas.. :) Thanks..
@strarscreamtheking I'm proud of the country I live in, and the effort they made during WWIi, but I'm equally proud of my native country, which is why I intend to build a lot more Swedish aircraft, in due time.. just want to up my skills a bit more first.. :)
you sir, have an amazing talent THAT IS SO FREAKIN COOL!!!!!!!! tHOSE ARE THE MOST REALISITIC THINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN. I make models, but not of planes
@BasicModelling Thank God! :) I don't want to see such a fine model broken. Btw how many total models do you have? I think I might have somewhere close to a hundred, maybe even more!
@RusskieHunter13 I gave up counting after 200.. and now I just don't know as I have them packed away in boxes all over the place.. I had some on display at the local model shop as well, but he has closed down now.. :(
@2002And A quick count tells me I have about 14, that I can see now.. Not all of them are well built though, and will be remade at some point, as I have managed to find again the same set of after market decals I used on a lot of them initially.. :) I have plans for many many more.. :)
@2002And I have decals for plenty.. I hope to build a Mk.IIc Night Intruder.. a few different Mk.IIb's.. another Mk.IId, maybe another Mk.IIa or two.. and a couple of Mk.I's too.. I also want to build a few different SeaHurricanes, hoping that Revell will reissue their SeaHurricane kit soon.. :0) Oh, I just remembered I want to make anothe SEAC Mk.IIc too.. and a Hurri on skis.. There;s no shortage of projects, no shortage at all.. Finnish, Russian, Portugese, Japanese, Belgian, Egyptian.. ;0)
@BasicModelling by the way do you have any model ships? such as the HMS Belfast or a Trafalgar Class submarine? or a Chinook troop transport helicopter.
@KeptSpartan463 I have a few kits to build, mainly of WWII motor torpedo boats.. and I have a few submarine kits built, but not the Trafalgar kit.. it sold out very quickly before I could get one.. :)
@lkj802 I have about 4 Airfix 1/72 scale Mosquito's to build, they're in the pipeline.. but I'm not quite sure when I'll make the first one.. :) I'll probably build them two at a time.. :)
@lkj802 I'm going to make a Swedish Air Force J 30 Mosquito (Night Fighter), and a RAF Night Fighter, and a couple of other versions, all RAF.. Not quite sure what the kit offers, in way of variations.. :)
@BasicModelling the airfix kit comess with two or three different roles i built the fighter role but at christmas im hopefully going to get another to make the bomber role
why is the hurri orange at 1:04?? also, why do i see some aircraft around with a roundel of dark blue with a light blue centre??? and 3:18, the black hurricane, i've built another plane from that squadron :) no87 RAF...
@MilitaryAircraft101 It isn't orange, it is RED... It was used for radar calibration trials, and was painted in a radar reflective paint, I believe.. :) The dark blue roundel with a light blue centre is the insignia of the SEAC, or South East Asia Command.. they could not use any red colour in their insignia, as they could'nt be confused with the Japanese, in case they got shot down by the Americans or their own British troops or planes.. :) I have also built a SEAC Spitfire Mk.VIII.. :)
@AceInTheMaking I DO indeed have too many models.. one of my jobs today is to box a lot of them to clear some space on my shelves for some new ones.. :)
@spanish111japan A slight drop of about 10 cm on to the table as it slipped out my hand.. but I will make another one using the Airfix IXc kit before too long.. :)
@148scalemodeling The Airfix / Heller Vampire is probably out of production at the moment.. but maybe you can search on e-bay? I was lucky and found a kit at a model show last year, they are not difficult to find at model shows and on the second hand market.. :)
I guess that can be done.. :) Will have to wait until next time I need to pint any such things.. but for some idea of what to do, please watch my Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Mk.IXc video.. :)
oh cool i didnt know thatthanks but i was thinking more in the line of 1:76 scale (thats the scale i collect) thanks anyways im kinda new to modelling
Start with the lightest colour forst, then maybe draw on the pattern with a faint pencil, then do the slightly darker shade and finish with the darkest.. That's what I normally do, when I paint any camo at all.. :)
you should but like a spitfire or something and put german markings on it for like a captured plane! i did that with my 1/72 scale P-51B. you should try it once!
Hmmm... I might be able to help with a PZL P-11. I have a Revell one, as old as the Zero I built, very detailed surface, even down to the ribbed skin. Yes... that will work beautifully for you, I think. Like the Polish kits, it's got Kosciuszko Squadron marks, but it's very nice. :)
You know me.. I never say no!! But I can't really ask you for that, they're gold dust.. :) :) We'll sort something out at some point.. right now modelling is far from my mind though, it'll be a while before I get anything done.. :P
I haven't built the model yet.. but I hope to get round to it at some point soon! I should have started it a long time ago, but other models got done instead.. :) I can do an Inbox Review for you, if you want to see the kit.. :)
that MiG (what is it 15?) and that Polikarpov fighter ("For Stalin!" on its side) look awsome. I saw on that Stuka you applied decals BEFORE painting overall? how can that be?
Yes, there's 2 MiG-15's, (one is a trainer) and the I-16 is one of my better models, thank you!! :) At least one of the ones I like the most.. The Stuka is in Winter camouflage, whcih is a white paint they applied all over the planes, except over the insignia, where they left the original 2-tone green.. so it may look unpainted, but it's not.. :) It's all done according to building and painting instructions.. :)
oh winter camo! duh! idiot. sry, for that. Im looking at you models and not for the first time seeing how my 1/144 models suck. do u do that spot camo by hand?! wow.
Ha ha ha.. :) And yes, I don't airbrush, so all my painting is done by hand.. sometimes it turns out good, and sometimes it doesn't! I can't brushpaint white or yellow though, so those colours I tend to spray on, using a spraycan.. :)
I too have a problem with white and yellow! goes on like water. takes like 10 coats! (my models are 1/144 - so small - sometimes airbrushing is not good)
Yes, I don't know why the paint manufacturers can't make a yellow and white paint that brushes on well.. but I guess it must be something with the pigments used, because all makes of paints are troublesome, when it comes to those two colours.. and also orange.. :P
I had only one experience with orange - I airbrushed a civilian version of a C-47 (one of the older models that looks like shit) I didnt know what I was doing then and I still dont pretty much. I cant get over that spot camo - for me thats WOW
Yes, I have a V1, it should be on show in this video, actually.. both the V2 and the V1 are in 1/48 scale.. :) The Spitfire on floats is a Mk.Vb, also known as the 'floatfire'.. :)
I built the German and Swedish Storchs ages ago.. I want to build a Finnish one, and the French Criquet as well, but you know that already.. and as you also know I started the French Criquet a while ago, but like most of my models it's tewmporarily on hold, until I get the urge to complete it.. :)
The urge is there, but right now I haven't got as much time as I'd like to have.. Especially as I'm still fiddling with the computer, but all my 3 camera options works with Vista now.. only 1 camera worked with my old XP, and that was the one with bad sounduptake.. :p I should be able to do more 'vlogging' again now..
The bf.109 is in 1/48.. I built a 1/32 Bf.109 E-4 many years ago, but wouldn't do it again now.. in those days I made te models to play with, so bigger was better. Now I build them to keep, so do smaller scales.. :)
Most of them are stored in drawers in what's supposed to be my bedside cabinet.. :) Not ideal.. but I have nowhere else to put them.. :) Apart from packed in boxes in the loft.. :)
The first thing I look for, if we go anywhere, is the local modelshop.. :) :) I can't go past one and not go in, they may just have THAT model that I have been looking for.. :)
Oh ok could you send me the web adress because I can't seem to find it. By the way your Russian Spitfire is the best spit I have ever seen!!!! It's just amazing!!! :)

BasicModelling 2 years ago
If that were the case, you may need a bigger house. :)

A hanger and a runway would suit me nicely.. even if I can't fly myself I could enjoy watching others.. :)

The bf.109 is in 1/48.. I built a 1/32 Bf.109 E-4 many years ago, but wouldn't do it again now.. in those days I made te models to play with, so bigger was better. Now I build them to keep, so do smaller scales.. :)

Wow! Where do you store them all when they are not on display? Dumb question, I know...
fehquig 2 years ago
Most of them are stored in drawers in what's supposed to be my bedside cabinet.. :) Not ideal.. but I have nowhere else to put them.. :) Apart from packed in boxes in the loft.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
nice; and those in too many 'parts' can be your 'boneyard' as at Davis-Monthan :) so don't hide your 'boneyard' away, it could be a thrilling
'if only' diorama that increases etc...)
