  • Huckabee has lost points with me for his lack of appreciation for the liberty. I could see him making the same argument against abolition of slavery as he does for gay marriage. I wish Tammy Bruce would go the extra step and ask how does the state have any legitimate authority to license marriages to begin with.

  • I'd be for gay marriage ONLY when they legalize prostitution. Im sick of having to fly all the way to Thailand to get some cheap nookie.

  • Helen Prejean doesn't make America great when she says what makes America great is that people are able to choose between straight and gay marriage and that since she prefers straight marriage, she wants the country to "choose" to make that the only choice for everyone. That's a collectivist interpretation of rights, not one based on fundamental individual liberty.

  • Huckabee's comments were ridiculous

-The Constitution doesn't protect "lifestyle choices"? Discrimination (by government or employers) on the basis of religion is prohibited.

-"The burden of proof lies with those who wish to make the change"? OK, and they've been making a strong case for changing the institution to allow all consenting adults; other countries already allow gay marriage.

-Judges were the ones who banned public school segregation when southern majorities wanted to keep it.

  • Yes, in fact the tolerance we show religion far exceeds that which is shown towards the gay community and religion is for a fact a lifestyle choice, unlike homosexuality, which can be debated. Yet we bend over backwards to accomodate people and their religious practices.

  • Sotomayor is not qualified to serve as a Supreme Court Justice, plain and simple. A Supreme Court Justice MUST have the commitment to embrace the restraints of the Constitution. A Supreme Court Justice, or any Justice for that matter, cannot legislate from the bench. Huckabee is right, Tammy Bruce is right, and as usual, Ms. "can we all just get along" Jami Floyd is wrong.

  • The woman to the left was really annoying.

  • Most arguments about marriage miss the most fundamental point, which is that marriage, while it certainly bestows rights and obligations upon the individuals, mainly serves as a nest into which children can be securely born and nurtured. A child needs and deserves a mother and father; a man and a woman who will stand together and raise him or her up to become a worthy adult. To feed our modern narcissism, we sacrifice our children. Our big problem is broken marriage; the gay issue is a detail.

  • The studies show that children with TWO parents do better, NOT, as it is so often misrepresented, a mother and father. Turns out THAT part is actually less important...strange, but true. Go with facts!

  • What are the criteria of the study? Because that makes all the difference.

Will grades be similar? Probably. Will a kid have as much an opportunity to understand how to have a family with a man and woman if they had same sex parents? Probably not, and considering that families are going to be 98% straight it is important to be able to continue establishing settings that allow children to be able to in turn create self perpetuating families of their own.

  • God created the man and the woman, other thing is just an abomination.

People who want to stablish the gay married, are just fighthing against God, and i don't think they could beat him...=)

  • Huckabee is an indoctrinated religious moron

  • So was George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

    Stalin was a good atheist.

  • Jefferson and Washington were Deists, lmfao what a moron

  • No, moron. They were Christians and had devotion to the Bible. Jefferson was unorthodox and quite independent in his faith.

If you're lazy, you think they were deist because that's the myth that built up over time , but it's not true.

  • Deist, but very much a believer in God.

  • Jefferson was, Washington was a Theist ;).

Jefferson by today's standards was rather religious.
