Just like someone can make a phone explode by calln it,its possible to have da phone like a zip gun. And Darby didn't target them like he knew them. It was just a random home invasion.

Just like if someone die by a car wreck,someone may say,that's fate,meaning from da beginning of their life,it was destined for them to die like they did. Like "Final Destination" the reason death kept chasing them cuz they escaped "fate" for a moment,meaning the way they were meant to die,it didn't happen like "fate" had it to be.
