This director definitely have a gift. He connects with the students unlike no other way I've seen. I always wondered how in the hell can you teach students how to conceptualize the music, rather than play just what's on the sheets. New Orleans bands seemingly understand the total concept of music. I'd like to do a research on the NO bands to determine what characteristics go into producing such entertainment. It's like science to me, these NO bands.
