  • I was 15 in '81, when the show basically started for me, and thisbrings back so many memories. Yes, I was a typical hormone-driven teenager who went crazy when the lady dancers would gyrate their backsides to the cameras in those costumes (e.g. the ending credits). Now that I'm in my 40's, I've calmed down a bit (but not much - wink wink - I'll never change, I've been told. I'm a butt man for life.). Anyway, it was a great show for the artists of the day, and it was a more innocent time.

  • That was way back before the days of ordering tickets by web!

  • Solid Gold was the bomb! What happened to good TV with dancing and good music? Everything is crap now on TV!

  • @Suspiria10 Amen. Nowadays you have to have your own show on The Disney Channel or be discovered on YouTube. Music today is manufactured.

  • wow, my parents used to watch this when my sister and i were little kids. we hated it! lol

  • I wanted to be a Sold Gold dancer(lol) Thanks for posting,as many of us 80's kids did not have VCR'S (new technology)

  • You and several other folks had aspirations of being a SG Dancer (including me)!

Not a problem - glad you're enjoying the posts and thanks for commenting!

  • @discomusic Well at least until the mid to late 80's did most of our parents get a VCR, mircowave too!! They were to expensive for the average person(VCR,microwaves) in the early 1980's..just like now, 8 years ago the plasma and LCD tv cost $5000, now you can get one @ Walmart for $600...you how it is with new technology..and it will repeat again with new tech that hits the market!!

  • Louis J. Horvitz was also credited for work on the Academy Awards.

  • The SG Dancers have awesome costumes. Is Brad Lachman still doing producing now a days.I swear I heard the name or seen that name b4 too. Brad Lachman.

  • I have no I idea if Mr. Lachman is still in "the biz". Sorry.

  • yes Mr. Lachman is still producing he was credited at the end of Don't Forget The Lyrics.

  • One of Bob Banner's last seasons.
