That was wonderful. I played this song for competitions. He is one of my favorite composers right behind Beethoven. Thank you for sharing this fun Sonatina. :)
what book did you use for this? I have the alfredo book and my teacher said that the second movement's name is a typo. I'm not sure if this right. I kept telling her I found many like this video that have Allegretto.
@MarchingBandGeek96 Thank you. I used a British edition published in the 1960s. I can't lay my hands on it now, but the title I used for my video definitely came from it. You could check with whatever edition is on IMSLP (which you can download for free).
I like this video very much, you play this Sonatina really very wonderful! It`s nice to hear you, nice to see you playing on your piano. You are great!!!
Wonderful! Learning this piece but finding it almost impossible! Started learning piano from scratch 6 yrs ago, my fingers just do not keep up with my brain! Am very jealous! Will keep going though, am 62 yrs old so that might be a bit of a problem!!
@reubenize Thank you for that. You cannot choose better music to work on as it such excellent practice and enjoyable to play. It is great that you have taken the piano up - I am always saying to people that it is 'never too late'. So do persevere!
@jitchoo I'm very pleased to hear that. Do work hard at the piano, but make sure that you always practise with an achievable aim in view - and not just because you feel you should be doing x minutes a day. I am certainly guilty of having not practised enough when I was young - I preferred to sightread through a pile of music than to work on one piece!
i already learned this piece and i am still polishing it. dang you are good. sometimes i just don't appreciate the way i play, but when i see other people play this i think that they are waaay better than i am. gee
@opticalworld Other people probably play this better than me! What you have to do is to try and imagine, while you are playing, that you are the audience - and think whether you are delivering what they want to hear. The other thing that always improves any performance is minute attention to detail in the score.
@PSearPianist thanks for the advice :) well i think the reason that i couldn't appreciate my playing is that i always play most of the pieces i study in moderate tempo even if it's in allegro. i could speed up, because when i do, make a lot of mistakes.
@apoman1993 Thank you. The second movement is actually hard to interpret. I certainly go for the allegretto, otherwise it could sound like a Baroque 'grave' movement. I do not specifically aim to play staccato, but I do not use much pedal and do not aim for a great deal of legato.
@PSearPianist That would be great! I already uploaded the first one but the second movement was too fast. I guess Ill try another upload later. And I made a mistake in the first movement :P little one but well if you want check them out!

You're a good pianist, but you are disregarding the rules of musical dynamics and articulation.

interesting way to play the second piece. Most people don't like staccato in this one and although its allegretto the play adagio.
