  • I loved it, man. Well done! You look kinda sad though. Cheer up! :)

  • @Godsmacked9 Thank you. I was sad - the woman who sold this instrument to me passed away, and I recorded this video because her sister couldn't find anyone to sing "Amazing Grace" at the funeral. I'm planning on recording more video with this instrument, and hopefully it will be under happier circumstances.

  • @Godsmacked9 Did you not read the description?!?!?! How lazy you must be to comment on a video without reading even the title. Either that or you're moronic enough to tell someone to "cheer up" at a memorial ceremony for someone who has RECENTLY DIED. I'm speechless at the insensitivity either way...

  • HAHA, KOOL!!! Nice Man.

  • Very nice...God bless you..!!!!!!!

  • Wofür soll das gut sein????

  • Generally, folks the instrument acts like the Bb euphonium and the Bb tenor horn. Around the turn of the century when there were many community bands giving concerts in towns across the country there were arrangements that called for one of these (eup or tenor) so one guy (usually) with a double bell horn could play either, depending upon the need.

  • when it reaches the higher notes the second bell is being played. it is a very rare instrument great vidio

  • song suit for beginner

  • @EmonaGy I am a complete beginner. I made this video for Bev's funeral and for her family, and not to show off my virtuosity. I am taking lessons now and I hope to improve as a musician.

  • @TupakSade But if ive only seen one of these, then clearly you are doing well. Especially dealing with 2 instruments bound together. Hope the Proceedings went well.

  • @Shadowcontheoriginal Thanks - I believe the proceedings went well - Bev's sister told me that they played the video at the funeral (I live in Canada and the funeral was in California) and that the attendees appreciated the gesture, especially the fact that the song was performed on their grandfather's instrument.

  • @TupakSade 1. Sorry you had to go to California. 2. What an honor. 3. Much luck and happiness to you and yours in 2012 sir.

  • @Shadowcontheoriginal Thanks - much luck and happiness to you and yours too! I couldn't go to California - so I made this video and sent it instead.

  • where can you get a inexepensive double horned euphonium. I have only seen expensive ones

  • @beachabam12 Robb Stewart in Arcadia, CA has one for $1,900

  • @MrChrisrmenter Robb's double bell euphonium is an older one, with an upright euphonium bell (and the front-facing smaller bell). It is a five-valved Conn, though, and I'm sure Robb will make sure it's in top-notch playing condition before it's sent out. Robb would be a safer bet than buying off of eBay. Robb would be a great guy to buy from, as he's a great repairman and brass worker. He is a true artist, and creates (crafts) custom-made instruments for customers.

  • @TupakSade In which case I'm lucky to live with him and am able to walk to his shop after school!

  • Hi, agentgfh; if your great uncle wants to sell his, let me know! Seriously, though; the second bell is to get a different sound out of the instrument when you depress the last valve. On this Conn there are five valves - the first four valves are for fingering notes, and the fifth valve makes the sound come out of the small bell. If the fifth valve isn't depressed, the sound comes out of the larger of the two bells.

  • very cool my great uncle has one and offered to let me use it but i have no idea what second bell is for any chance you could explain?
