Is anyone else having problems trying to view this in fullscreen. The video becomes entirely messed up. (sigh) Guess it doesn't matter. The quality would be even worse.

@cashmoneykidd1 Yes pretty obvious they destrpyed FF after 10 they totally changed the battle scenes the sound is bad both people and sfx , a lot of other small things thats irritating too its just not a Final Fantasy game anymore just a regular fighter game now.
But they took Phantasy star in the same direction and a lot of Online play and crap.

Gameplay was good, but the leveling seems complicated for me and most monsters were a bit hard even if you were on level. I think 10 is the best of the PS2 games for FF. It has a good story line, good gameplay and good leveling system. It was simple and easy. I suggest you keep going 10, and try 12 also. I haven't given up on it though. I'm still trying to like it.
@cashmoneykidd1 I also think you did a good choice. X is an awesome FF game. But XII is also good. It's not just as final fantasy as I would've liked. But if you look at it as just any other game it's hell of a lot better than about 95 % of the games that's been released during the last 5-6 years. Do get XII just for a good game IMO. Finish it, and when you feel like playing it again, play it with a guide if you want to find everything. Then it get's funny as hell :D

@PrismPhoenix hmm I too had a problem with her but it's simple if you know your way around quickening, he ice minions will defeat u if you head on to her straight on, so there wont be a chance to get her, if you want to do this the good way then I suggest going to The Ogir Yensa Sandsea at the far west were u found the Kings tomb and chain as many Yensa's as you can, try to reach a chain of 200~ they're easy if u stay away from the elements. Alt cheating root, spawn rape Dustia. search on Utube

I need the spells stop most importantly, and all the other main buffs u get at the start, the trick is u will sacrifice your group as long as u stand alive, go to The Nabreus Deadlands up north west and keep killing King Skeletons, warning though at your level 1 of them will own u all if u don't get away from it, thats why I used stop to halt it in place, Phoenix down doesn't work on them!
I actually completed this game 101% complete beat every Enemy, Boss, Esper, Rare game Enemy's. Although it was a long time ago maybe 4-5 years ago. But this game was super great. I fell in love with the combat system. I also got every weapon, armor, item. I just loved this game.

Well, it's all opinion, but I feel that this game was a large departure from the established Final Fantasy formula. This game is very much like Star Wars. It shares a lot of similar themes and has similar characters in similar roles. Vaan- Luke, Balthier- Han Solo, Fran- Chewbacca, Ashe- Leia.
I liked the older formula better. It had a more emotional storyline, and in depth characters. Vaan, for example is introduced as the first PC, but isn't even remotely important in the story.

Yeah, typically in the FF series, the main character is either a young man, or a boy on the cusp of manhood, trying to find his place in the world, finding out who he is, and what he's destined to do. The first time playing FF12, we're introduced to Vaan, and we think that he's gonna be that character from this game, but he's not. In fact, when Ashe and Basch are introduced into the game, Vaan takes the backburner, and is SO unimportant to the story, I wonder why he's even there.
It depends! The game acts a LOT like Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, so if you're into that, then you'll probably like this. Other than that, the action functions like a lot of MMOs, like World of Warcraft, Everquest, and all that. So if you like them, you'll definately enjoy this.
The story is convoluted (and since this is part of the FF series, that's saying A LOT), but if you can get behind it, you might like it.
FF X-2 is also a good game. Bad story but AWESOME gamplay!

Well, I didn't care for the story personally. Your tastes and mine maybe completely different. After all- final fantasy is in fact, Final Fantasy. We all know what to expect from the series. The reason I said I didn't like the story is that Yuna acts like a completely different person. Instead of the quiet, kind girl that we liked in FFX, she acts like a arrogant, bitchy woman. Rikku is essentially the same as she used to be. There's a certain mission in which Yuna is a total BITCH.

Twitchy fighting gamers dislike a combat system that requires strategy and logic for the same reason I dislike twitchy fighting games; they give us the opportunity to fail at skills we are lacking in, but do not give us the chance to succeed at skills at which we excel. The attacking seems easy, especially early in the game, but later on the foes start throwing out some nasty negative status effects (not to mention some heavy attacks) and you have to know how to and be able to deal with it. Side questing isn't a piece of cake either. FF12 can be a very challenging game (especially with some bosses, one of which has 50 million HP and can take a minimum of 2 hrs to beat).
Don't mistake a lack of button mashing for a lack of challenge.
@sboasiva Try deleting it from the memory card and restarting, pay attention to the cong. in the begining make sure it doesn't say anything about chinese... Hope this helps!
I like the twists, but I wonder if the game could have been served just by starting out with the theft. That tells you Empire Bad, and pretty much everything else you need to know to get started with minimal exposition. Still, I like where this game is going compared to other entries in the series. Not sure why, though.

I had such a fantastic love hate relationship with this game. loved the battles and gameplay but hated the story which was sooooo stupid and boring. also what was up with those summons man. I cant believe Belias failed to kill a wolf! A WOLF!
@chickenbutt450: Thats because each FF game takes place in/on a different "world" (Gaia, Spira, Ivalice, Cocoon, etc) with different cultures and levels of technology. Each FF has it's own unique story that has nothing to do with the other FF's (with the exception of "sequel" games like FFX-2 or franchise games like FF Tactics which FF12 is inspired by).
It's clear that everyone who disliked the combat of this game has very little to no experience playing MMOs like Everquest, World of Warcraft, etc. That's not a bad thing. MMOs will steal your soul, but the combat is exactly the same. Real time strategic group combat, without transitions between travel and fighting. I for one thought the game was near perfect for what it was trying to achieve. Comparing it to past FF games is unfair. It's an amazing game.

The attacking seems easy, especially early in the game, but later on the foes start throwing out some nasty negative status effects (not to mention some heavy attacks) and you have to know how to and be able to deal with it. Side questing isn't a piece of cake either. FF12 can be a very challenging game (especially with some bosses, one of which has 50 million HP and can take a minimum of 2 hrs to beat).
Don't mistake a lack of button mashing for a lack of challenge.

@sboasiva Try deleting it from the memory card and restarting, pay attention to the cong. in the begining make sure it doesn't say anything about chinese... Hope this helps!

I like the twists, but I wonder if the game could have been served just by starting out with the theft. That tells you Empire Bad, and pretty much everything else you need to know to get started with minimal exposition. Still, I like where this game is going compared to other entries in the series. Not sure why, though.

I really like this game. I would love to play it again. Although I don't ship the whole Penelo x Vaan. Vaan's cute though reminded me of Tidus but whatever, this was my last FF game and I'm waiting for my PS3 for FF 14 I HEARD IT WAS GOOD I CAN'T WAIT. LOVED THIS GAME THOUGH SO EPIC =)

@chickenbutt450: Thats because each FF game takes place in/on a different "world" (Gaia, Spira, Ivalice, Cocoon, etc) with different cultures and levels of technology. Each FF has it's own unique story that has nothing to do with the other FF's (with the exception of "sequel" games like FFX-2 or franchise games like FF Tactics which FF12 is inspired by).

It's clear that everyone who disliked the combat of this game has very little to no experience playing MMOs like Everquest, World of Warcraft, etc. That's not a bad thing. MMOs will steal your soul, but the combat is exactly the same. Real time strategic group combat, without transitions between travel and fighting. I for one thought the game was near perfect for what it was trying to achieve. Comparing it to past FF games is unfair. It's an amazing game.

Am I the only one who didn't like FFXII... I loved FFX, and of course all the previous, even XIII, but this one lacked so much heart in my opinion...
