You set the wells to run off the eccentric so they balance. Typically in the Bradford PA area we used this set-up for wells up to 2,000 ft or so, no problem. So long as they've not been (water)flooded, wells will pump "natural production" from a tight sand formation well over 100 years.

24/7 but I'm surprised they haven't been replaced with electric units yet. All of the other old equipment is now history.

@sw8741 As I understand this setup the well 180* from this one is the counterweight but they still must be kinda shallow
