That's space shuttle Endeavour, the mission was originally planned for shuttle Columbia before the fatal accident.
This mission was Endeavour's first since the Columbia accident & Endeavour happened to be the last shuttle to fly before the Columbia disaster too.
Also, the Commander of the shuttle seen is Scott Kelly, the identical twin brother of astronaut Mark, who's wife Gabriel Giffords was shot in the head & lived.Mark Kelly was the Commander of Endeavour's last ever mission sts 134 in 2011.
i want to know what idiots on this flight didnt get up to look out the window at a space shuttle flying towards outer-orbit from a plane in mid-flight, anyone can drive to a field to watch it or on tv, but to be on a plane mid flight thats so awesome, very few people get this view "in person" i would jumped out of my seat to see the entire thing
@killallwemust Her specific words were, "Y'all, it's worth it. Go ahead and look. It's a line with a red dot. Everybody get up. Y'all go ahead." As a flight attendant myself, peeps are strongly encouraged to stay seated with seatbelts fastened during cruise. She felt it was important enough for folks on left side of plane to get up and look out right-hand windows. She was explaining what it looked like for those with a narrower field of view out the windows, so they'd know when they saw it.
The shuttle and the commercail airliner are having a drag! (The smart money is on the shuttle.......someone elses money is on the plane! I give the plane odds of 5000 to 1!)
Ok, so if you guys all thought this was so amazing, why didn't you concentrate for a coupla minutes and actually record the damn thing instead of recording, variously the top of the window, the clouds, the WHOLE OF THE SKY EXCEPT WHERE THE DAMN SHUTTLE WAS! Seriously, once in a lifetime shot and you completely screwed it up. Sheesh. I mean, how dumb are you?
@yomexicosfinest93 They have different roles duh. Everybody does different jobs. And for your notice, the pilot of the rocket or whatever it was an ex-USAF pilot... Anyway, and airline pilot is a LOT, LOT, LOT braver than you'll ever be.
Fuck that ...... i'd be more concerned and yellin' from the rear of the plane - HEY PILOT , KEEP YOUR FREAKIN' EYES ON THE GAUGES AND WATCH THE SKY IN FRONT OF YOU GEORGE JETSON !! PARANOID PASSENGER BACK HERE !!!
@Airflyer05Videos The shuttles white exhaust trail is 90% water vapor. Water vapor needs humidity and pressure to exist. The shuttle was reaching an altitude to high for water vapor to occur.
about 1:40 looks like the two rocket boosters ran out of fuel, then from then on just thrust from the shuttle itself while using the fuel from the orange tank.
Oh and the dumbass in the video that said they are there (in space). Cause the booster rockets turned off, is incorrect. That was just the first stage. SRB separation in the launch. They still had about 60 more miles to go before they would reach space
@dalmationxoxo I believe it was more like 60 kilometers, considering SRB sep is about 40 km up. You may have confused kilometers and miles, as the official "line" at which space starts is 100km up.
Let me get this straight, we are watching brave, intelligent people on a space shuttle, doing scientific research hopefully for the betterment of mankind, filmed by a bunch of fuck-sticks who get confused using a video camera????
@slaneyboi No, it's just that you think that they actually go up there for the betterment of mankind. I mean, all you probably do is get your information from all the news and the media, leaving no other source of information for your self. Not to mention that you probably don't question any of it and just go a long with it and believe outwardly that's it the truth and there's no more to it. But, you see your not the only one! There are a couple billion others in this world.
@JoDaddyy Believe me, i do question alot of the stuff the media says, but i just dont think, like people saying oh they didn't go up there for the betterment of mankind, and now come to think of it, i don't actually know why they went up there, but i definitely do not agree with the people who think we're being sprayed with chemicals from planes and that it was the US Government that bombed the WTC i think that's just out of order and there is no plausible reason to think they would do that.
@slaneyboi Well, then you don't question a lot then. I don't mean to offend you, but that's the way I think. The reason for them bombing the WTC is another a story for another time, especially not on Youtube comment board.
@slaneyboi What I'm trying to get at, is that obviously I am "conspirator", but don't think I'm crazy, or call me stupid for my beliefs. For one, us "conspirators" think that people who go a long with the government and believe in everything the media says, think that you people are ignorant. Yes, that does make a hypocrite, but please don't make a big federal case out of it by spazzing and cursing like most of the people on Youtube do. What the world should do is...
@slaneyboi Wake up! And, to think more independently. Don't always assume that the information your being hand fed from the news is the truth and to "mindless drone" and...once again, go along with it. That's all I have to say. Bye!
@thesteveus Ive been busy carving a stone sculpture of you. I hope you like it. I will bow to it everyday in hopes of achieving your level of perfection someday.
@thesteveus Not really sure if that's ironic...irony is one the most misused words. I just think that astronauts are smarter than these people...nothing too ironic about that. It would be considered ironic if the astronauts didn't know how to work a camera though.
@thesteveus 'let me get this straight': you think 'let me get this straight' is a strong or meaningful statement? And that is all you can say about an amazing video, the like of which you personally have never made? Have you ever considered turning on your brain, or even looked for the switch?
@jjmnky Depends, considering how extensive the universe is, getting a few kilometers out of the atmosphere of our planet isn't much of a feat. I would say landing on the moon was amazing, but that raises the point of whether or not it was real.
lucky guys, in the final seconds a cloud got in between, just a few seconds before shedding the booster rockets. The booster rockets function for just over 2 minutes and the video itself is 2.05.
Great shot, you must have been just outside the range. She'd of been pushing some velocity during first stage, but you'd really see her move once she'd of SRB sep'ed. Then it's all the way up to 17,500mph within the next five mins.

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1) Why do we love space travel?
(2) Why do we want to explore the space?
(3) Why do we enjoy the feeling of zero gravity and floating in space?
(4) what is the social value(s) represented by space exploration?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)
