It is an achievement to get a car that fast without a doubt, but my previous point still applies, a lot of these cars are not totally legal if you look into the details. In the UK an MOT is often taken as proof of a car being legal for the road, it is not proof at all. The MOT test is merely a quick "health check" that lights, brakes and steering work ok and that the emissions are correct for the class of vehicle. It also extends to other lesser items and to corrosion damage..
That is NOT the case at all, the MOT is not a complete test. Many aspects of the construction and use act are simply not covered by an MOT. The MOT is an annual "health check" and does not go into massive detail.
"Street Legal" is a tricky thing. That badass mopar probably does not pass the test as a "Street Legal" car. As much I I love Mopars (Dusters in particular), roll cage, wheely bars, etc.. are not street legal. Also, looked like a little NOS blast goin' on there... totally not street. I am not totally sure that is true, Red Victor One is without a doubt very fast but the law regarding what constitutes a street legal car varies around the world. In some parts of the world the hood scoops on these would be illegal due to obstruction of the drivers view. In the UK having an MOT certificate does not prove that the car meets all relevant construction and use regulations.
This car ran low 8s on 93 octane Rocket Brand pump gas. This car won the Hot Rod pump gas drags. All cars in competition must complete a street drive and run spec fuel. This car is 100% street legal running on 100% leaded pump gas.
Things like the position of the lights etc are part of "Construction and use regulations" here in the UK. An annual MOT test will obviously check things like the functioning of the lights and the headlight aim etc, but they do not check that the lamp wattages comply with the act. I am not dissing any of these extremely fast cars but I am just saying that it is easy to have an MOT certificate on a car that does not meet all of the relevant criteria.

Thankyou, it had to be said. Insured, Inspected and Registered doesn't mean shit. If you know the right people you can get anything "Street Legal", all you need is the VIN code and insurance and the paper that states you passed the State Inspection.

You'd be fucking surprised that kids where I'm at have 8 second Supras on slicks and on the streets, they still give you hell. I got a 450hp f body spanking Cobras and Vettes, but every once in a while I run into some kid with either a beat up 90' Honda or a clean fresh paint 95+ that waxes me from 60 - 120+.
