  • good shit right here LOVE Gerorge so much he rules.

  • i wonder how many guys that are the "stars" of country nowadays rope?

hell, i wonder how many of them even know how to saddle a horse...

  • George your my role model!!!!! I listen to all of your music, and admire every move you make! I rope myself in my high school rodeo association, so I love that my favorite country singer is a header like me, has his own line of jeans, and hats!! Love you george!

  • @gqtexan not with an age limit they wont be

  • @TheRyanTittle Age limit concerning what?

  • Love that Cowboy!! "Multitalented!! Go George!!!

  • " Long Live Cowboys " - George Strait

  • Indeed it was!

  • wow long score and fast cows

  • i love george ive seen him rope in person its beautiful to see it.

  • great singer great cowboy

  • never mind he is a header ....same as me haha

  • is he a heele??

  • "Calgary Cowboy Stampede"

  • I have a pic of George on this same horse on my Channel. George is AWESOME

  • Sweet!

  • Different horse. Same color. The horse in the picture is one that has a big star and blaze. The one at the roping in the video does not have white on his face.

  • George is awesome on this horse.

  • lol, fave song ever playin' in the background :D

  • nice one! lol i watched this video like a week ago!

  • oo, sass

  • Oh cool! I've been looking for videos of him doing roping, but didn't find any until now--thanks for posting. I'd love to see him do it live!

  • I told myself "if I never see him sing, I always wanted to see him rope." So after being close to him out in the warm up area, I have finally gotten my chance to be up close and personal to be close to the King of Country Music.

  • That must have been so amazing--one of those moments you'll never forget. And watching him with his son too--wow! I've seen him sing live. I wasn't that close, but just being in his presence hearing those songs was something I'll never forget.

  • Never will forget it! It's been amazing to finally do that. In my life, I got bigger fish to fry.

  • I've seen Bubba rope a few times before so it was no big deal to see him. But George is another thing. I didn't talk to him due to the unwritten but spoken rule I have heard from others if you do see George at a roping: don't ask for an autograph or even say hi to him due to him wanting to be just like anyone else there.

Folks that I know were also filming him at the same time just to show their grandkids. It was an awesome experience!

  • I haven't seen either of them rope. If I couldn't talk to the King or ask for an autograph from him, I would definitely respect his wishes, on account of him wanting to be just like anyone else, because I'd assume they'd based on the humility he has. But I'd just die if it was because he didn't want to talk to/meet us. I'm so glad he let you and others film him though!

  • Thank God he didn't send out bodyguards in Wranglers and Resistols after those who filmed him. I bet you there were ten people, including me filming his runs. There was even a set of mid 40's women that were just gushing like a teenaged girl seeing the Jonas brothers.

  • LOL! Yes, thank the Lord! How did you find out he was/was going to be there? Was it a surprise? Oh no--mid 40s women acting like teens?--poor Norma! Was she there at all?

  • Yes she was. As a matter of fact, I didn't realize it was her until I studied who was that woman in that expensive jacket. I found his name on the day sheets provided and was available to shoot some videos. Pretty cool eh?

  • Well I hope she wasn't right next to them. That would have been awful. What kind of jacket was she wearing? That is really cool! I know I would have been so star struck, I wouldn't have known what to do.

  • It was one from either Double D Ranchwear or from Cripple Creek. It was high dollar, brown suede, and very stylish.

  • Oooh, very nice! Thanks for filling me in. One of these years I'll make it to the GSTRC, I hope.

  • I don't blame those girls at all! Really, I'd just about rather see George rope than see George in concert. After all, I go to a George Strait concert, and I am surrounded by a bunch (and I mean a bunch) of women. I go to see him rope, and I am surrounded by a bunch (and I mean a bunch) of cowboys. George is still the best looking cowboy there, but I like the change of balance.

  • That does sound nice don't it? lol U make a good point!

  • Thats right! How did you know that? I'm impressed. My stud and 2 sister broodmares are out of 23 Hall of Fame Horses, 8 App and 15 QH. None close up in the first 2 gens, but I still like to read pedigrees, learn stories and histories of these great Hall of Famers and how they came to be in my horses bloodlines. Its so fascinating. I like the diverse horses, like Rustler Bill, who would compete in almost all the disciplines in one day, win 'em , and go back to do it again the next day.

  • Yeah, hear you there. I am fond towards the Driftwoods and Two Eyed Jack lines. I got a roan colt that has four shots of TEJ that I believe will be a great one. I got a horse right now that can fly but isn't very flexible. Got some work on him but got to figure out his problems too. Starting with his mouth.

  • In case you want to know how I know, I am a stats and data freak when it comes to PRCA champions. I know a whole lot more than some people could care.

  • You know I was hopin for a close-up ha ha.

My stallion has the same bloodlines as the 2000 AQHA Roping Horse of the Year, "Keep on Flushing". He's an app out of Burnt Spur, thus Depth Charge two times. I don't know why I always thought George did heeling.

    Thanx for posting.

  • George does heel. I saw him at the finals heeling but didn't have my camera with me at the time.

  • That's Viper you are talking about. One of the all time greats.

  • Thanks for posting this. It's great to see the country music legend in action. He looked sharp and was holding his own quite well. With some private lessons from you i'm sure he'll be even better isn't that right Spencer!! We have another 5 star winner here :-)

  • He pays a LOT of money for professional NFR guys to instruct him. But I can say if I was on my game, he'd be nervous.
