This was such a pleasure to watch as an adult beginner. I started a year ago at 24, and I love seeing other people growing and doing exactly what I'm doing. What an outstanding commitment to ballet, I am male 64 and have just doing ballet to arrest the ravages of time and after doing pilates for 3 months solid the effects of control and vitality in doing ballet have been enormous, self esteem, flexibility and self awareness is wonderful, it is never too late just so long as you are healthy, your outlook on life improves with every move in ballet.

I was never able to take classes as a child because they were too expensive and now I can finally learn ballet and I love the grace, strength, flexability and posture it has given me. Oh, this was so beautiful! I'm taking adult ballet classes since 1 year now (I'm 23) and I LOVE it!!! I'm Southamerican, and I've danced salsa (and other Latin dances) all my life, but never anything like ballet... And now I ask myself: How could I have missed this for so long? I am SO glad that I finally made the choice to start ballet, it is very fulfilling! So, to all of you who still doubt: go and do it! It's all about that first step! I'm sure you can't stop once you try it :)

Were these women starting ballet older, or did they have former training? Either way, I want to see more! I have some dance training as a youth, but mostly have lots of martial arts training and I recently began dancing ballet more seriously as an adult. It is surprising what someone can accomplish even when not starting as a child...please show more!!

@Lynarette I am 40! but I look younger, so my dance teachers don't know how old I am. And from all the years of professional caliber martial arts, my body is fine with doing splits and what not. I have had private lessons for a year and my teacher pushed me really hard lol. I am able to keep up in intermediate classes now, though not for every combination. I will actually be performing a hybrid of martial arts and ballet this coming year. 21 is a breeeeeze!!! DO IT!
Amazing video :) Is there such a thing as too late to begin ballet? I'm 25 next month and have always dreamed about at least trying ballet. At this age, it would be to regain my old flexibility and improve balance and strength mainly.
Ilya, you're a wonderful teacher. Even your adult students are great. If you came to Warsaw I would attend your classes every day if I could. I learn Russian and one day I'll come to Moscow during holidays simply to attend your course in ballet :):)
If you could come to Europe or America, to teach open classes for a while, your classes would be loaded with all your fans :). If you need help to get here, let me know :D
