Thats because people have this thing of the ford name. And you can usually pick up a ford for cheaper then a dodge or chevy. Me I dont really give credit to ford on there diesel because its not really their engine.

What makes me really no tlike ford is how they cant get stuff right the first time. The 6.0 version truck is the best example. And their 6.4 isnt to much better. They had to try many times to get these trucks to finaly run.

then why give chevy or dodge credit? the duramax is made by isuzu the cummins is made by cummins. ford is the only company that will be all inhouse with their diesel for the 2011 model.

the 6.0 was rushed to production to meet the new emissions guide lines before the new clearer burning diesel was out. that was the main problem was the dirty diesel the US had pre 06'. it clogged the egr system with soot. and the turbo with the variable vains HAS to be cleaned by having a lead foot somtimes.

The reason ford will be the only inhouse, and their doing this with every thing not just the diesel. Is because ford wants really everyone to go through them. This truck also isnt stock, it does have help in doing what it does. Damn nice truck though. Ford does know how to make a nice looking truck anyway :). Ford just needs to get there act together is all and they'ed be fine.

the engine is a perfectly good design in the parameters it was designed in. it was designed to run on cleaner diesel. the main fault should be placed on the gov. for not mandating the cleaner diesel sooner as they maid the guide lines that you have to pass emissions by such and such date. ford has their act together, they're not the ones getting bailed out. and maybe if people took better care of the vehicle and understood the ownership of a diesel instead of just buying it because its cool,

This is true, very true. Ford has their act ok. but it still falls on all of them. But the cummins and duramax didnt go though as much as the ford had to.

But not to mention the engine, eletrical/ computer proplems were also a big problem with them when they first did the 6.0.

But people still have to fix the 6.0 to get it done right. Mostly the ARP head stud fix to keep head gaskets in those things.
