its sad to see my people suffer in this dump while some of my guatemalan friends that live here in the U.S waste their money away on beer and drugs and dont think about how life is so hard back home,,,,
it really is a life changing experience to see this. its right on the edge of a graveyard.. and the caskets/bodies get thrown over the edge down to where people are "scavenging" its pretty sad.
You are not going to like what I have to say. My feelings are that you are mainly helping yourself. If you simply gave the money to a charity who work with the Dump Scavengers you would help more. Think about it...40 people spending $4000 final cost is $160,000 . Guatemalans would be employed and could build a school for that MONEY or 2000 houses for crying out loud. Yes you get experience but don't go on about how you helped some poor people....stay home...send money and really help.
and you americans thing all you have ploblems don't be so selfish and help other people like pour people in guatemala...open your eyes and don't see just around your corner, i don't said give away your money to those institutions who try to get your money seing they help...just go by your self and,, well go there and you see ......tank you to all those americans who are not selfish and help GOD BLESS YOU GUYS...
THANK'S A MILLION FOR HELP AND VISIT MY COUNTRY, GOD BLESS YOU GUY'S .... THANK'S AGAIN MILLION'S AND MILLION'S.... tha's the realy life in GUATEMALA .. I FELL SOO BAD WHEN I SEE THIS CAN OF VIDEOS, I HOOP ONE OF THIS DAY'S THIS THINGS CHANGE IN MY COUNTRY, I REALLY HOOP GOD DON'T FORGETH ABOUT THE GUATEMLAN PEOPPLE, Y BLESS YOU GUY'S .... THANK'S AGAIN.....
Let me tell you something, that is NOT how life is in Guatemala, in guatemala it's WORSE becouse you go outside the dumpster and find yourself with many people driving mercedez benz bmw, people that are only wear brand name clothes and go to expensive private universities but they are not bad people, they just don't know of what happens in the dumpster, AND another thing it's not Americans who go out and help, IT'S Christians and god bless them.
I am trying to contact the organization that went on this trip. I recognized one of the houses that was being worked on in the video (at 6:06). I just would like to know any more information about the family there (how they are doing ect.). Any info would be greatly appreciated
You might want to try contacting Potter's House in guatemala city, thats the organazation that I went threw when I was down there for a month. Best month of my life
What ticks me off is the fact that the government does nothing. Nothing at all but steal and procrastinate to start programs. I am ameerican but guatemalan background and I personall y would like to thank those people. Amen
There are very few people like these americans. God bless you and your families, since you guys have been a blessing to the poor folks over in Guatemala. I would love to do that, go to a poor country and help. It is also an adventure, travel etc.

Dios no olvida, pero tampoco es que se tarde ni recuerde, Dios nunca está presente.
No recuerdo ver visto en algún lado que ese "dios" judeo-cristiano deba ayudar a los humanos, y tampoco veo porque debería de hacerlo.
