  • and also, our Eclipse is now a HARD TOP as of November 2010. the Eclipse has won the Limited FF class at Super Lap Battle 2010, twice in a row. so it means, this car is a force to be reckon with. our engine, suspension, chassis and aero design on this car is probably the best there is on any Front Wheel Drive street car.

  • @eeeen321 hey bro! we will definitely make a new video of the car and narrate down the mods and other current updates on the car. we have been really busy and the car is actually getting "re-built" (AGAIN!) from the ground up with new parts, engine and aero mods! we will let everyone posted!

  • @KBRunlimited707 Right on, that sounds like a good thing, I can't wait to see/hear some details.  Please keep the updates coming; and the primer grey/white you were running is WAAAY better looking than any over the top sticker or paint job.

    -I'd drop minimum cash on the paint of the car, rattle-can that crazy fwd and F the haters.

    Is the FXMD's nsx also getting a big make over??

    -I can't wait to find out what SSE will replace Christine with, hard to imagine a better Over-All package.

  • hey guys, the modified aero kit on this car has been replicated and there is only 10 made and all 10 are sold out. also, for those who has been asking why we had a convertible and not a regular hard top coupe is that this car was bought by the owner brand new back in 1998 as a street car. back in the late '90s, it was cool to have a vert and turbo so that was the reason. also, pls. look at our newer videos from last year since this video is one of the first one we made.

    hey man, sorry our custom widebody kit is already been sold out. there were 10 of these made and all 10 has been sold. also, like as I said before, the car was bought brand new back in 1998 as a street car. the owner of this car never imagined that he would build this car from a street car to a full blown race car. we pretty much want to prove that we can pretty much build a fast car, whatever type the car is.

  • hey guys! thanks for the comments. well I would also like to announce that we WON again at the Super Lap Battle finals at Buttonwillow Raceway last Nov 10, 2010. we won 1st place in Modified FF and setting a new class record. unfortunately though we didnt have any videos to show since that we were busy working and preparing the car on the competition. but either way we won and its in the record books!

  • as you guys know, in this old video the car was in its EARLY STAGES. meaning the car was being R&D. so yes it was not looking at its best BUT if you guys see the other following videos, the car had improved dramatically.

  • like I said before, the car has been purchased by the owner almost brand new back in '98-'99. and through the years it has been built from a 400whp street legal car to a near 700 whp streetable race car. so why change the car? plus we ARE FASTER than anyone else on Street FWD, AWD and RWD on Redline Time Attack Round 2 @ Willow Springs Raceway, except for ONE very fast EVO 8. and we did that on a CONVERTIBLE. lolz!

  • they wasted theyr money on that MoTec system. They would have gone faster if they had gotten a real suspension instead of that run of the mill KW that doesent really work for racing, all show and no go. And since someone is going to ask, a real suspension is atleast some Koni double adj, Moton, ohlins, penske

  • wtf? what other engine management that you "know" that is better than Motec? for the money, Motec is the way to go. also, about a real suspension system, we could have used Moton, Ohlins or Penske if we were on a higher class on RTA. but we are competing in the Street Class and we are limited on suspension mods. we cannot use any suspension kits that are more than $1500 in value. if we were on Modified or Unlimited class, we would have a waaay crazier suspension system on the car.

  • you can make them fast, but it takes a lot more money and effort than if u bought a gst or gsx. Plus, the 4G63 engines just have more potential

  • yo, how come eclipses have a bad reputation when it comes to reliability? I have a 95' eclipse gst and it's under maintenance. it's almost two months that i havent gotten it back? i love it but if what people say is true why even have it? is it worth still having?? i really need help considering this is my first car..im only 19. help yes would help.

  • the Eclipse can be tempermental sometimes. but as long as you have a good shop/mechanic that is knowledgeable on these car they can be very reliable. anywayz if I were you I'd keep it and if theres any problems with it just let me know so that I can give you some pointers about maintenance and such.

  • well i live in the riverside area here in california. I don't know if you can maybe recommend me a shop that you know that are known for fixing eclipses ovr here. or some shops that maybe over here...it's hard to know if mechanics reallllyy know bout eclipses...i hope you're right about the reliability..=,

  • bro i want either a gsx or gst but i c some out there that they claim that its has many mods but it wont turn on or its out of timing or it needs a tuning in order to work as it should... what do u think should i buy it, or how much is a full tune up ??? help me

  • hey bro, before you buy a car make sure that the engine is in working condition, as well as the body. make sure its not been into an accident. and as for the GSX or GST models, I would go for both! just kidding, but a GST would be less maintenance between the two. but if you want good traction, you can get the GSX (but of course, it has more parts so its more expensive to maintain). also, a good tune up can cost in between $180-$250 with parts & labor.

  • but they say its got all the mods they listed, but it turns on then the car shuts of after a few minutes due to timing or something like that. also if it doesnt run like it should it should be tuned. and how much do u think it would cost for the timing thing.. and is it worth it?

  • bottom line this is a great car with some amazing work done to it, i see the logicin evrything done to it, and i just have to say great work guys, wish it was mine.

  • I would like to see some acceleration vids andrew, and you speak of the car being able to beat any gsx out there-how is that wheel spin doing? I mean, you have spent tens of thousands of dollars on a car with no traction, when you could of saved thousands building a GSX , and not having a wrong wheel drive car. props to the build and everything you have done, it is simply amazing, I am just giving the honest feedback you wanted good or bad.

    also, as for wheel spin, its fun. not till the traction control kicks in then all you feel is neck breaking acceleration.

    anywayz, we couldve built a demonic AWD car if we wanted to. but we'll see, time will tell coz we are going to build a sick AWD car soon.

  • our Eclipse has 687 fwhp, but on our first race at RTA we detuned it at 500 fwhp. have you driven a car w./ 500 whp on a road course before?

    i think the major functionality makes it an aero kit, not body kit.

    the fwd vs. awd i can see your logic on...but why in the world would you put that much effort and knowledge into a convertible dsm?? CONVERTIBLE!?!

    i would guess that being a convertible, it does not have the potential to become as ridged and it is much less aerodynamic than the coupe.

    seems like it could be a much better purpose built TA car.

    but is an awesome build reguarless

  • well, to answer your question "why a convertible".. its simple.

    the car was bought almost brand spanking new back in '98-'99. basically, the owner of the car Mr. Andrew Brilliant had the car for a long time and he had done almost everything, every mod to this car. it started life as a street car, then a 400-500 whp street/Land Speed race car and then now as a 680+ whp Time Attack race car. so it was that simple really, the owner of the car had it for that long so he had to work on what he have.

    but you would admit that a hardtop is more capable as far as rigidity and aero?

    i cant find any good shots of the entire cage, is it an extensive cage throughout the car that makes up a lot for the convertible chassis flex??

    the aero and suspension is absolutely insane...

    what is going on at the rear? it looks like in landspeed mode, it had a killer rear aero setup, but on the TA mode, just open? or is there aero

    post more videos of your races coz i think it's only you who posted a time attack race by an eclipse.and also dominate in this fwd class!
