The axle is welded to a sub frame thats welded to the truck frame and hookup for the sled is welded to the axle and frame. Every big time pulling truck has a similar setup NO rear suspension. So if you are gonna comment please atleast know something about the stuff you are talking about. THE WELDS BROKE YOU IDIOTS.

I can already see the less than intelligent comments. Number 1, the only thing Ford on that truck is the body. The chassis, is custom built. Engine, is generally a Merlin. Axles, obviously Dana corp. Suspension, those trucks don't run one. The axles are attached directly to the chassis. Got it? This was actually a case of poor chassis design, and even worse welds. One could just as easily have used a GM body. Still would've happened.
