It is blown out of the water because it doesn't stand up to scientific scrutiny. It doesn't, or shouldn't, depend "on your personal outlook". Science is objective, measurable, and repeatable. We don't have to understand it, we have to be able to observe it and so far, when it comes to EVPs, we don't.

Good Morning, Thanks for listening to my evps. I recorded 4 of them in my home. The "MAXUM" one was recorded during an over night stay at a friend's house. How do you clean up your evps? I have two EVP where the guy says he's a marine......one of them says "Im a marine.....There's people tussling with me.....help me James....whats happening"

To me it sounds like, "which is?" and then it is cut off by another voice saying" doesn't like James". could be either though. and to BBgeorge26 nice evp. 1 of the clearest (real 1s) i've ever heard. most of the clearer 1s r just som1s voise with effects added.

Sometimes little earbuds (or ear buds, also known as earphones) work as well as, if not better than, headphones. I have a pair of Olympus earbuds that came with a digital recorder that I sometimes prefer to my big expensive Sennheiser headphones. Sony makes a set of "high performance" earbuds, model MDR-EX51LP, that work real well for me too. The Sonys cost $30-$40...maybe less. I try more than one if it seems like a tough EVP.
